This is stupid/makes no sense. Sure they may be inmates but they are still human beings. What happens if the 3 rolls of toilet paper run out within the week? Ridiculous!!!

Limit everything they get, fine with me. Let's cut their cable tv too! They are in jail, not at home or on vacation. There are people on the outside that live with less as the working poor.....

I am sure there are many ways to cut cost in the jails, televisions, weight areas and basketballs, books and magazines, just to name a few. They are in jail, how about this novel idea of chaining them together and make them work off their debt to society by picking up trash and breaking big rocks into little rocks. Come on people, they should not be living better than the people on the outside.

I have worked as a corrections officer. I know the inmates waste the paper, stop up toliets, set it on fire and any other thing they can do with it to cause a problem. When we limited the amont of TP they could get it stopped 85% of the problem. If you need more than 3 rolls per week you also need medical attention. And I am sure they will be given extra on a case by case basis.

This is absolutely reasonable. This should be the standard at every jail. Who the heck uses more toilet paper than that?? If something is seriously wrong with them to the point where they use more T.P. than that, they are going to be placed in medical isolation anyway, and will be given more t.p.

You try living on the inside for a while, tough guy, then tell us how you like it.

It makes you feel really tough, cracking down on helpless people who can't fight back.

How much toilet paper do you use every day?

Read the book, "A world apart" by Christine Rathbone and get educated on how they are treated, how they learn to adapt and what it's really like.

Yes, and read the crime reports and obituaries to see WHY they are there. Are we supposed to reward thieves, rapists, murders, and child molesters by making prisons like a summer camp? Duhhhhh NO!!!!!!

Prison SHOULD be awful. They SHOULD NOT want to be there! What kind of deterrent is there if it isn't?

And can you please come back down to reality and re-read the article?? All they are talking about is limiting the toilet paper to a REASONABLE amount, 2-3 rolls a week.

I don't use more than that, and I have IBS and get a period every month. Sheesh!

Who do you know uses 2 or 3 rolls in a week? This is more than enough. I don't know if both my wife and I use 2 rolls a week together.

Seeing that I live my life by the law and am not in prison I use as much toilet paper as I please, Mr. Tough Guy.

Let them live like they're in a third-world country. People have to use whatever they can find to wipe their @$$es. old, crumpled newspapers, leaves, straws, whatever. There's so much paper waste here anyways, make them use those shredded stuff. There is 1 out every 100 people incarcerated in America. That's is a sick statistic. I am so peed-off that my $2500/mo goes to fed/state taxes to feed these f*ckers?

I second that. She did not have to go there. VERY unlady like.

Oh please. Grow up! I did not use profanity, gross detail, or crude language. If you cannot handle something as basic as this, how do you manage having a woman in your life at all? There was nothing there that was un-lady-like, unless you are a FLDS member or something...

The point I was making was that even someone with more of a need does not exceed the reasonable ration of paper they are proposing.
