Isn't Sen. Sherrod Brown the same guy who's trying to save a roller coaster or something? I wonder if he also helped sponsor the bill to name a State Lizard just recently??
Diabetes is a serious condition that is usually controllable with medication and constant Dr. monitoring. What the hell is Sherrod Brown getting involved in?
Sen. Brown, why don't you work on finding ways to reduce the price of gas and throw the people who are gouging us in jail?!? Help fight the thugs/gangs in Akron, find ways to reduce our taxes, help bring work to Ohio, find ways to help people stop losing their homes, work on solutions to out of control energy prices, get rid of ECheck, DO SOMETHING IMPORTANT.

Typical Democrats...in office to do nothing, only nurse off taxpayers dollars....what a bunch of wasted time and effort by politicians who DON'T REPRESENT ANYONE but their own political and financial ambitions. Elected oficials are to be PUBLIC SERVANTS....not career politicians, if they can't get the job done...step aside and let someone else serve.

Duhhhhh! For ever since I can remember, the going rate of sugar level was 140. Now they have reduced it to 110.
What do you expect? Of course it will on the rise.
If any one of you have had grandparents, etc. with diabetes in the 60's-70's, you would realize that 140 is the STARDARD for sugar levels.
The government is screwing with the number to increase the sale of Diabetic Drugs so the stock market on this will rise for THEIR POCKETS!
Don't fall for it! My doctor, who is 'common sense' WONDERFUL doctor plus my pharmacy believes that they are lowing the number for their FINANCIAL GAIN.
If you lower it to 110, you will drugs, therefore your body probably will get Diabetes, the drug will be doing the work instead of your pancreas. Like nasal inhalers to open the passageway and chapstick. I KNOW of people who are hooked on these and can't get off of them because the body won't work on its own anymore.
And the WORST of WORSTS, Purell, which kills the good bacteria along with the bad.
Take my word in 20 years, a skin cancer will break out on people who use this stuff liberally.
But, what would I know, I have only lived long enough to see all the side effects happen from then till now.
BE AWARE PEOPLE! The government does not want you well, you are worth nothing to the medical society if you are well!
If so, the cure for AIDS and CANCER that they DO HAVE would be available.
We are not a preventative medical society, only a 'help us die' society, there's more money in it.
When was the last time you talked to a doctor that cared and was pro-active? Huh?
Get a grip people! Start demanding questions and answers. And if you don't get answers, go find the answers.
If your doctor is TOO familiar with the prescription pad, get another doctor.
If you ever checked the side effects of the drugs you get, do you realize that for every side effect that you tell the doctor about gets another drug with another side effect?
Henceforth, a line up of drugs that STEAL your quality of life and ROB YOUR LIFE period!
I KNOW of what I speak, I live it and most of you will too.
Also, stay away from those doctors that like surgery! Most surgeries need not be, did you know that?
Get your ear off the cell phone; your head out of the clouds and start communicating with people.
There are powers in numbers!

The American Diabetes Association points out that the 2003 assessment of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) states that 1 in 3 Americans born after 2000 will develop diabetes in their lifetime.
And you are worrying if a politician is doing nothing? Do you have any idea what it is like to have diabetes? So much for "compassionate conservatism".

If we're going to point fingers, maybe we should know some facts first. Here's a starting point: In 2003 the American Diabetes Association (ADA)lowered the levels that separate normal from elevated blood glucose (sugar).
This is a fact. Now, the political spin:
The Republicans were in office (and power) in 2003. I could do what you have done and gripe that the "Typical Republicans" managed to get the level lowered so their buddies in the big pharmacy business could make more money from diabetes meds.
But then, I would be as irresponsible as you.
