Nestle says it will investigate accident

There are 26 comments on the Kentucky.com story from Feb 19, 2008, titled Nestle says it will investigate accident. In it, Kentucky.com reports that:

“We pride ourselves on running safe facilities, so this is very distressing to everyone when we have an employee accident happen”

Nestle officials will investigate how an employee's arm became trapped in a piece of machinery at the company's Mount Sterling plant for nearly an hour Monday morning.

The employee's hand got caught on a roller in a conveyor belt system about 9 a.m. at the plant, which produces Hot Pockets meals, said Mike Mosbey, battalion chief for the Montgomery County Fire Department. Her arm was crushed from her hand to her elbow.

It is unclear how her arm became entangled in the machine.

It took an hour for crews to take apart the machine and remove the employee, who was not identified. She was flown to University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment. Mosbey said she was stable. Read more

Nestle will not investigate this problem cause they are good at covering up things. They only fix things so they can run that way they dont lose production they dont care if it hurts people or not what about their ammonia leak that had been leaking for a month before it blew up and they are still fixing on that ammonia tank. They are irresponsible with their employees and they dont care about any of them. They are the worst employer to work for in mt sterling.

Yeah anyone that knows me knows I worked there for a long time. 7 years in fact. I believe anyone that knows me and remembers me getting my hand crushed. That it wasnt long after that I was dismissed, once Nestle found out they would have to pay for an orthopedic surgeon, and possibly a few years of therapy. Here I sit with nothing to show for 7 years of hard work. They gave me a $1000. dollar retirement check ( that was supposed to have been alot more),and that check was it. They cover up way toooo much that goes on there. I could go on and go about the wrong doing that goes on there.

There is all kinds of wrong doings that goes on there they cover up everything and they also dont tell the employees the whole truths about anything they lie and lie and lie. I wish oshea would visit more often and talk to the employees there they would find out a lot like they dismissed the whole factory when oshea came in so they wouldnt talk to them that is how they are afraid someone is going to say something and also find out how badly they do things over there. I worked there for a couple years i fell within my first 30 days and they didnt believe me i fell. they made a big deal kept questioning me about what i was doing and how i fell and what time and question after question cause i didnt have a witness. they dont deserve to be running til they get things straightened out over there. I know people smelt ammonia for a month and having headaches and stuff before that explosion and then afterwards also.

You got that right on the drug test, their are so many high on second shift I wonder how they do not have more hands and arms in machines. Also the pressure to produce product is getting to the point they will have whips out on the floor before to long to drive the people.
They seem to deal the drugs with out any interferance from management, I wonder if someone is getting paid off or something.
Safety is a joke also, I have seen it take a year or more to correct safety, machine gaurds and such. They have got to the point that machines will not be fixed unless they break down completely and will not run. Every day it's getting worse and worse.

My mom was the one who got her arm caught in the machine in Feb. 2008. She has suffered alot and is still not able to go back to work. She also has to take physical therapy 5 times a week to try to get the nerves working in her arm again. Luckily she was able to keep her arm. It could have been alot worse.

Sorry to hear about all the other people who have been injured at nestle.

I would like to know if any of the the injured people would like to start a lawsuit? I have no idea if it would work but I was fired over medical reasons also.
What do you say, should I contact a group of lawyers and see if they would be interested? Sound like alot of things are involved here. Medical, retirement money and other things.
But it may be one way of getting back at them for a lot of suffering they have caused over the years.
