What a broken school district. This district sets new standards for dysfunctionality. Anyone who can afford it sends their kids to private schools or moves.

This is a typically crappy Monterey County school district. No wonder so many of kids who matriculate thru local schools are such worthless turds - look at the kind of crapheads running the sausege-grinder at the top.

It was a forgone conclusion that this "petition" would be rejected. This authoritarian school board was not about to allow the formation of a school to continue the tradition of Bayview Elementary after deciding that it was ECONOMICALLY more advantageous to close it and reopen Monte Vista Elementary School. Of course they want OUR students to populate Monte Vista and so collect the subsidies for each student, which would otherwise go to the Academy.
What's more: Has anyone noticed the amazing coincidence that this is supposed to happen right after the lease contract of Monte Vista with the Department of Defence (DLI) runs out, and DLI will vacate the premises (and stop paying rent)???
Shame, triple shame!!!

Don't appeal with the same half-assed proposal. If you can't anticipate the likely questions and concerns in your original proposal, why should we expect you'll be able to anticipate the needs of your students? Feeling "entitled" are we?

Unless you are a Charter School expert or Ed lawyer, then your opinion is worthless. I highly doubt you even read their petition. If you had you would not be making such ludicrous comments. Save them for the next boad meeting.

Desperate tactics by lawyers already in trouble for skewing the truth and denying people and children civil rights.

THE LAW GETTING AROUND ITSELF

62,700 Charter School Petition Denials in .14 seconds (on google). In 1992 California Public Education standards and results were so poor that the "people" passed "law" to allow charter schools to "compete" with State run School Districts. The mandate was for there to be a fair cooperation and assistance of the districts in allowing Charter schools to be formed. Of course there was the "competing for money "thing". By early 2,000 there was a definite settling in of the formats and standardds that worked and didn't work. There was the weeding out of the Charters who were not diligent, that were not susceessful. There was also a general understaning of what it took to be successful and to "watch your back" when it came to the School District, the County School Board, and the State Department of Education. For them, its all about the money. Nothing to do with education, anymore. That aspect was destroyed long ago.
And with this time of things, yes we get to see the lying, the steeling, the deceit of a system of "Negetive Achievers" hanging at the end of a rope they tied around their own necks. My question is why would we want to swing with them? And, is there anything we can do while they are figuring this all out for themselves? Obviously they will continue to denie the problem, "them" thar ones getting in the way of self initiation and "government of and by the people once again".

You can judge the morality of society by how it treats its young and the elderly. Well the young are getting the shaft because they don't have an AARP or other lobbying group. Usually its one family against a bunch of corrupted school board members who are dime'ing the system.

Who will pay for the trillions in debt? Our children and their children. Who will have a larger burden placed on them by the misdeeds of their elders? Our children and their children. Who is getting one of the worst educations in this public system? Our children. Why?

Money money and more money. Forget the children its all about the money for the boomers and their parents.

Thank you so very very much.

What a sleazy tactic. This lawyer has a very dirty track record. But that's why MPUSD paid them the big bucks eh?! Our tax dollars at work, sleazy protecting sleazier!
