It's great to know that Bloomington has its crime problem completely solved and eliminated, and the police can now be turned into a smoking enforcment group. Seriously, how on earth is this going to be enforced, especially if the upper age limit is 13 years? How the hell is a cop supposed to determine that before they pull somebody over for 'smoking in the presense of a child' or whatever BS name they're going to come up with for this. Where will this end?
Wait until they 'make the choice' for you to disallow you from smoking in your own home. You always start with baby steps...At least under Indiana state law, you can defend your vehicle against invasion as if it was your home (IC 35-41-3-2 c), so why isn't the interior of your vehicle private property in the same sense? I'm not a lawyer, but it seems really odd that you can use lethal force to keep somebody from forcing their way into your car, but will soon be unable to light up a cigarette if a child happens to be in there with you. Who gets to make that decision, and why do they have that power? Who gave that to them?
