It's probably why the Major Case Squad wanted to have a mountain of evidence against Chris before arresting him. They probably already anticipated that they'd seek the death penalty and he'd automatically get half a dozen people on his case trying to save him.

what's the point of worrying about his death sentence. he is definelty guilty.. There is way too much evidence to argue otherwise but because there are these people out their saying "OH you shouldn't kill people for committing crimes blah blah" I'll tell you what I bet those people wouldn't feel that way if had been their family he slain. I say "off with his head"

If the defendant can't get off with a not guily verdict, a lot of attorney's will go for some technical flaw in the case and have the whole case thrown out of court.
There are also appeals where the case can be reviewed and the verdict of guilty can be thrown out because of some minor flaw in the case.
Of course, the defense attorney will concentrate on everything the investigators, judge, prosecutor and jury say and do, looking for some kind of slip up.
O.J. was found not guilty because a lot of strong evidence against him was declared inadmissable in court for one reason or another.
All I am saying is, a lt of things can go wrong and the prosecution had better be on their toes if they are going to win this one and end this jerk's chance of a free life forever.
I for one don't want this one to slip through the cracks, but there are quite a few holes in our justice system.

Well and with DNA and all that being out now, the appeal process needs to go. They need to be executed in a more reasonable time frame.

Didn't he admit that he murdered them? That alone is all the evidence they need. It's really sad what he did & in my opinion he deserves the death penalty.

He didn't admit squat! He's lower than low & totally makes me sick. His parents seem to be dirt also. But he's a minister so he must be a caring, giving, honest person!

They need to ship him to the St. Clair County jail for a couple weeks.

They would just keep him in protective custody like they did Jason Smith. Smith murdered his 9 week old baby, the mother, a friend of hers and my cousin. Trust me plenty of people wanted to get to him but couldnt because they keep them out of general population

The way I understand it, Joe Brauer, ex-police chief, screwed up the Wiley murder.
No death penalty

United States

Right now there is no death penalty in the state of Illinois. The most he will get is life. His preacher daddy was taking up collections for his defense and now we taxpayers are paying for him a public defender.
Agreed

Oh there is a death penalty in the IL prison system, it's just not legal. I don't imagine that Coleman will last too long in there. He's a baby killer.
