Just another case of illegals driving illegally and either causing injuries and death to others and themselves.
Why are we so politically correct? We know that we have many illegals in this area and we know that many of them drive. Why can't they be stopped and checked for license, registration and insurance? The same thing with other matters. We know who blew up the World Trade Center. We know who is pulling off all these terrorist acts. Why can't we stop and question these people? It might be an insult to them? I'd rather insult them then to see a friend or family member hurt by them.

IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN TILL YOU SEND THEM HOME. AND IT IS PLAIN AS DAY THAT THE LAWS ARE NOT GOING TO BE ENFORCED.

Yes, it was a preventable, needless death. If I were the Dotts family, I would consider a spectacular lawsuit against the Federal Government for allowing them into the country.

I have a question about this situation -- one which should have been asked sooner.

If two in the truck were legal, why was one of them not driving? It was either a colossal act of poor judgment / irresponsible behavior, or the two legals had not been able to obtain / keep driver's licenses, either.

I think that it is important to ask questions such a this. You won't get the answer from A C-T, but at some point we must find a way to learn the facts and to tell the entire story.

It was just another act of flaunting our laws. They feel invincible because our politicians are protecting them. Does anyone honestly think that these illegals will pay a $5000 fine, then return home and enter legally? They'll flaunt that law too.

Of course you are correct, Jerry L.

But why do we, the American people, consistently fail to call out the illegals on thier arrogance -- and call out our "leaders" on this folly of theirs?

Because of that village idiot sitting in the White House and his lack of concern and action, every hispanic I now see, I ask myself, "Wonder if he/she is illegal?"

When the N.C. Highway Patrol start enforcing traffic laws again, maybe it will give the very few people who attempt to drive safely, a break.

Let's not talk of the village idiot in the White House when the "push" for this has come from Nancy Pelosi, Feinstein, and Kennedy (all of whom have consistently pushed for instant citizenship, full Social Security benefits, and an invitation for extended family members to join their kin in America).

because we are afraid of being called bigoted or racist by those who break the law and their supporters, just like we're afraid of looking at people instead of things when screening airport passengers.
Big business wants cheap labor, big govt sees a huge voting bloc, and the rest of the public is distracted by details like fines, paths to citizenship, and the fence that will never be completed.

We've carried political correctness, racial profiling, and the catchall term "bigotry" to the extreme. They have become "cut-off" terms to stop any criticism or common sense and excuse just about any action by any person or group except WASPS.

I think he sobered up around the same time as GWB dropped the Coke habit.

Alexis, I have been called a lot worse. I can not for the life of me see how 'defending' our country against any ILLEGAL can be called racism. It takes an IDIOT to say that.

I am still flabbergasted by the lack of HOMELAND SECURITY to get out there and get ICE on the stick and handle these matters.

Looks like the AMERICAN people are going to have to have a MAJOR UPRISING in order to get something done. We have seen we can no longer trust the politicians in this matter. They are too busy collecting from the lobiests and the illegal groups. Chit, I am totally fed up and am going to go shoot at the barn.

You're making fun but I won't let them near my house to work. Heaven forbid they get hurt, legal or illegal they'll sue your butt. They work off the books with no workmens comp. and you are responsible for their safety. I'll pay more and be safer. I'm having a sunroom installed now and turned away to Mexican laborers.

Lots of idiots where this is concerned and it goes beyond illegals. That will be evident next time you go to the airport, where EVERYONE is treated as a potential threat despite overwhelming evidence that shows one particular group bears watching. Can't have profiling; that would be racist or bigoted. Just look on these threads how many defenders of the wave leave out the word 'illegal' and focus on immigration. They want to make it seem as though anyone with a different point of view doesn't like Mexicans.
