Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. is calling for placing armed tactical officers or security officers "in every school and public place in America." The sheriff also rejects calls for gun control in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass killings in Newtown, Conn.

Americans sick obsession with guns has to be curbed. No American needs an automatic high power weapon for any reason.

Almost no average citizen has a automatic weapon, they are highly regulated by the ATF and require a special Class III Federal Firearms License to purchase one.
You really should gain and understanding of what types of weapons there are before you make a statement like the above.

There is a major difference between a automatic weapon and a semi-automatic weapon, just as there is a difference between a pistol and a revolver.

PS. The 2nd amendment gives up the RIGHT to keep arms & one of the reasons for that 2nd amendment is so that the citizens have the means to defend themselves, their homes and families against others and the government if necessary. The founding fathers were pretty smart fellows, especially after having to deal with the English Government.

Your statement just shows you have no-clue as to the types of weapons out there and what each is used for.

I love all of the anti-gun nuts that don't even have a clue what they are talking about. I saw a picture of the weapon used in the shooting next to a similar calibre weapon that looked more traditional with a wood stock. Both have a 10 round clip both are semi-auto and both fire the same ammo. I bet you that if the average anti-gun person saw pics of them side by side they would say the black one looks dangerous. In reality they are the same thing. Just as when GM made the hummer. It was a regular GM chassis with a hummer body really all just looks.

Seems to me that lately the nuts have been the ones with the guns.

How about a 6 month government buy back period for semi and fully automatic assault style weapons? After the 6 months possession of an assault weapon would be a felony (Kind of like if you owned a Howitzer now). The Government could reimburse the people who have invested in one of these weapons….So no money lost. Sure it would cost the government money, but far ,far less than the $6.7 billion a year estimated to put a full time armed guard in each and every American school. And as we’ve learned from Columbine, Ft Hood, and Gabby Gifford’s, in Arizona, armed guards on site, were of no value whatsoever.

So you would just step on the 2nd Amendment based on the fact that you don't like the way a weapon looks??

In another post I said I have a Ruger Mini-14 (google it) that fires the same round, just as fast as any of the black rifles you fear. Yet, in your view, my rifle is OK because it doesn't look like an assault rifle yet it operates exactly the same way, maybe better?

So, Jenny, if we painted all the big bad black rifles pink would they then be OK? Would you then not be afraid?

Maybe you should do a little research before you start posting about something you know so little about.

PS. You can buy them in pink if you wish!!

Here ya go girlie!! Don't be scared, go ahead and look!!

And here is what a mini 14 looks like.
