To the Editor:
Reading the article last week School Board Accepts $178,000. Budget Cut, just goes to show how out of touch the city administration and the school board are with the voters. The voters voted down the budget because they did NOT want a tax increase. So what happens, the city council gets the budget and guess what, the taxpayers will be getting a tax increase., thank you Joe Connors, we the taxpayers will pay you back in November! Another person blind and deaf to the voice of the taxpayer. FACT!!
As councilmen Connors states before we met with school officials, we agreed to bring it down to a zero tax increase but the Superintendent said that to cut that much it would all have to come from personnel. Well if thats the case so be it. Look at what businesses had to cut and are still cutting. Look at the unemployment rate, etc. Why should the Board of Education be immune to the economic climate that everyone and I mean the taxpayers are subjected to. How dare Joe Connors let the Board Superintendent dictate what is to be cut, thats his job as our council representative. WAKE UP and face reality, the taxpayer is broke, their pockets are empty!! FACT!!!
When Mrs. Tooker noted that the union did have some givebacks, most notable being that theyve stared paying a 1.5% contribution toward their health insurance plan this year. This is absolutely laughable. FACT!! Look at what the taxpayer has to contribute, there is no comparison and this is not a give back, it is a slap in the face to the taxpayer. What the Board of Education is saying is so what if your pockets are empty, so what if you cant pay your mortgage, we want it and we want it all, and we dont care if you loose your house, we dont care about your health care insurance we only care about us. That was perfectly clear when Barbara Keshishian gave her speech in Trenton on May 22, 2010. She is a union employee, a very radical person who doesnt care what the taxpayer has to do without. FACT!! Again I say bring on the Charter Schools.
I just hope the taxpayers wake up in November, vote out the present administration, and learn a lesson from this tax to death experience. These people appear to be puppets and cannot think for themselves or they are so self absorbed they dont care about the taxpayer and the people paying the tab. FACT!!
Of course they will respond with this is false information, dont listen, we are working for you but just look at your tax bill, your utility bills, your insurance bills etc. Can you the taxpayer really afford to listen to their untruths that they are spewing. If you cant afford their taxes vote them out!! If you are tired of listening to their extortions and lies, vote them out!!! This is your year for liberation!
