When I studied journalism in college, they STRESSED that you reported and printed ONLY THE FACTS.

This article uses a fake name and a fake picture.

This is what passes for "NEWS" ???!!!

It's the "EDGE". Their "reporters" went into it because they couldn't handle the real academic subjects that might have actually given them enough background to be able to write intelligently and informatively.

i.e. They don't know any better.

"He lives on South Beach..." As Anna Russell might have said: "OOONNN IT!" He's homeless and sleeps on the sand? Okay, enough criticism of Edge's writers.

In any case, I am not especially surprised at the stats., having one had a "Latino" partner myself. I put that in quotes as I think "Latino" and "Hispanic" are really stupid characterizations. They are not ethnicities and only point to a language, in this case one that in all but its original country was imposed (along with some of the gene pool) by outsiders on largely indigenous populations or -- in the case of Chile and Argentina -- largely empty colonial territories. Why does the US insist on lumping them together? Canada is equally stupid regarding the word Francophone, btw. Lots of ethinic folks in Montreal are "Francophone" but they still get discriminated against in the workplace because they aren't "pure laine" Quebecois. Again, the categorization is meaningless.
