There have been ongoing discussions about building a multi-purpose event facility at exit 14 at Gardner. It has evolved from the equestrian park that was planned near the airport but fell through for numerous reasons.

IF this comes to fruition, it will be the biggest thing to hit southern West Virginia in decades and will totally blow up the northern part of the county near Princeton. The plans also include allocating space for ancillary businesses, such as hotels, restaurants, gas stations and retail development.

Stay tuned!

I 77 and Route 460 and Route 52 and Route 19 is 4 major highways as well.... if it does become reality that could push for construction of the King Coal Highway to be connected to McDowell County... If one looks so much is blossoming in Southern WV esp Princeton right now... Then in McDowell and Wyoming with the Federal Prison and the housing projects going on...

I'd take anything on the hospital end of Princeton that was a decent, sitdown restaurant. I hate to drive out by 77 to get a sitdown meal!!!!! I even eat at the hospital to keep from driving across town!
