Mary Beth Gergley hasrassed me and many other people. She abused her power in a domestic situation. We need to get the publicity out on this case to the rest of West Virginia. If we do not put pressure on this case it will go unpunished.

Mary Beth will get this post deleted. She or someone has deleted every post about her. As a cop, she was a bully and abused her power on every occasion. Now that Princeton has fired her, she will show up as a cop in Matoaka, Hinton or Athans and continue her abuse of power just like the other P.O.S. cops who get fired from real police departments.

I don't give a damn what she has done. She is a good cop! She isn't guilty of anything more than the rest of them has done. I do not know her. So don't even start. I do know that she is one bad ass cop and I would much rather have her on the streets protecting me from losers/drug dealers/thieves than anyone out there. I feel she is being discrimated against because of her sexual preference and her being a female. Seems to me there are people jealous of her. She needs to be promoted instead of discharged! Actually, her being a city kitty is beneath her. She should be a state trooper.

If you don't know her, what makes you think she is so wonderful? I guess you think her sexual preference gives her the right to abuse her girlfriend. So if the rest of them (other cops) do it, it makes it ok for Mary Beth to do it?

I don't have to personally know anyone to form an opinion of them. Nowhere in my comment did I state her sexual preference gives her a right to do anything nor am I condoning another cop/person who uses power/badge to abuse anyone. Do not put words in my mouth. What I am saying is simply this...I know 1st handed of past/present arguments.between officers in that building that HAS happened and funny thing none of them were/are being charged. I have a right to my opinion just like the rest of you so called Topix experts and Lynch Mobbers.

hey crackerswife, I agree with wave. maybe other officers did get into an argument with other officer, but i don't think the other officers were lovers with each other and i don't think the other officers were commiting domestic violence against a lover when they were arguing. by the way you say you know first handed about arguments of other officers in that building but you don't know mary beth. that is a little strange. you either know mary beth or you are mary beth.

Typical response. I am not her nor do I know her. Why is it "strange" that I know 1st hand of "other arguments" in there w/o knowing her? "Past" could date all the way back to when that buiding was the old State Police building. "Present" actually means I didn't see her in there when I had a complaint a few years ago. Why are you people so quick to judge me because I happen to a person that refuses to hang her w/o knowing her?

I am going to say this and be done with this forum:

1) I am NOT her
2) I do NOT know her
3) To my knowlege, I don't know her friends past or present
4) I DO KNOW 1st hand that domestic arguments have happened in THAT building Past and Present
5) I don't have to agree with all of you when you bash on people on here
6) I am entitled to my opinion
7) I am not saying that what she did or didn't do is ok
8) I am simply saying that if this officer loses her job for doing the same things (to my knowlege) that others that have worn a badge has done, why not give them the same punishment and public redicule that she is getting?
9) Unlike the majority of you so-called do-gooders and experts on Topix, I feel like she is being singled out.(My opinion ONLY)
10) My opinion is like the rest of you....Its mine & it really doesn't matter what we all think

You people are using Topix to bully her but I dare say there isn't a one of you that would say this to her face....Badge or no badge....

Going to cost? The lady was falsely imprisoned, victim of excessive force, victim of domestic violence, assaulted, interrogated & tortured by a law enforcement officer. So she will have a monitary settlement for her pain & suffering & the courts criminal justice. RIGHTLY SO! Miss Gergely will be held criminaly & civily liable. She will never work in law enforcement again. Under those circumstances of termination, she loses her LEO certification. I also aggree that this should not be swept under the rugg! It will undermine all of the wonderful Officers serving if it's not done publicly so the community knows this will not happen to any of us without justice to the innocent. I feel they need to make an example out of her so this never happens again. Law Enforcement is a god send!!! Thank you to all that protect & serve! By making this public, which I feel is the right thing. This will show how high of a standard LEO's are held to. The vast majority of the men & women serving us are amazing!!! So again the punishment for this atrocity should be severe, which will shed light on all of the great LEO's that protect us. She is the anomaly! God Bless our Law Enforcement!!!!!

If she was a civilian she would never have gotten away with it. Everyday they jail men/women for domestics. What makes her an issue? She is the law and she should know the law. She abused her power and she should be held highly accountable for her actions. There would be no debate about criminal activity if she was a civilian.

i remember years ago when a county officer was abusing his girlfriend and his fellow officers looked the other way. He kidnapped her and took her out and killed her. His fellow officers thought that was okay and that he was just trying to talk to her and work it out. So why wasn't something done then. Why wasn't an example made out ot this incident? That happened years ago and i am sure it still happens. Mary Beth has been an officer for sixteen years. Where was other officers when this occured. Were they there all by themselves? I think there is something else going on here.

My opinion is write a ticket or not but treat people with respect especially when respect is given. Ahe treated him like he got caught molesting a child or something!
