I personally dont have a problem with getting kids in school and holding people accountable. The truancy plan they are trying is ok on one hand, but anytime you involve the DHHR in anything its nothing but a huge mess, these people only believe in one thing- take the kid out of the home no matter what (because they arent equipped themselves to handle or help with a problem). This new truancy plan being put in place is not a bad thing (Im for it) but for the love of
GOD keep the DHHR AWAY FROM IT!! I dont know why these judges want to align themselves with such incompetence as the DHHR.

How I see it, it seems to strict.... other factors plays into rather a kid is in school....
Health and diseases.... These Judges esp in Mercer county seems loss of the concept of true education and keeping the kids healthy and safe...
5 days only allowed for a child to miss... Lots can happen say a death in ones family... a child sick in the hospital, Hell I missed so many days when I was in 1st grade being sick in the hospital....
Loosen up the 5 days expand to back to 10 days a semester the way it was when I was in school...
