It seems to have been a good idea. The Hamlet corner was a complete mess and joke at 3:30 pm. Left Aledo, no problem until we got to Hamlet and the fields and then it started and when we went into the corner towards the Quad-Cities it was impassible. As soon as we got thru the corner we turned around, went back thru it and called the Quad-Cities and said NO WAY, WE WON'T GO!!! I Can laugh now as we passed two patrol cars heading from Aledo into town right after Hamlet. If they got thru that and hit 67 then I can guess it closed the road!! Would have been nice to know that the roads were like that!!!!! I looked all day for some clue (TV, internet IL site, etc) and it seemed that roads weren't an issue. HA HA Was a nice night to come back home and have Casey's PIZZA!!!!!
