Give me a break, now we are allowing feds to do what was meant for the local sheriff's office to do? And Americans still continue to act as lemmings, because they are told they are being 'protected,' never fearing that big brother is alive and well. Well wake up! If we have allowed it with this group of people, it won't stop, and in twenty or so years, they will be at your door.

Media and the Police State, hand-in-hand. The MSM continues to cover this issue like it is a public safety issue. Real journalism with any sense of historical perspective and civic-mindedness would find this trend of Government "Federalies" checking up on FREE citizens, alarming. That's what is constantly overlooked by the sheople who eat these stories up and feel really good about Big Bro' "looking out for them", when they should be alarmed. These registered citizens are FREE, and NOT under any judicial sentence or judicial control. If they had a sentence, they served it already. If they had parole or probation, they served it already. They are, in legal terms, as free as you, me, or your neighbor. Feel safe what price?

This whole registration thing a mess and a waste of time and money. The facts are so off based that nothing is no longer credible. Salem witch trial all over again!!!

The lack of staff and funding may be the case, but someone needs to teach these "Marshall's" HOW to do these checks.

Barnstorming houses in their bulletproof vests, scaring the people inside half to death is NOT necessary.

Many of these former offenders are living with their elderly parents who certainly deserve to be treated better.

A simple knock on the door, showing some identification and asking for the person they are looking for is all that is necessary.

Coercing and scaring these people into allowing unlawful searches of their homes is what many of them have been doing.

Those of you who are not on the registry, who don't have family or friends that are dealing with this better wake the "F" up and realize that YOUR civil rights, YOUR constitutional rights are gone now. You may THINK this only involves "those perverts", but you couldn't be more wrong. Once they violated the constitution in the name of "child safety", they set the precedent. They can violate it again and again for any reason they wish to use. We are living in a "Police State" here, better get used to it.

I see the gestapo is back in town. This is simply beta testing for mass persecution against America in general. See more truth @

AGAIN! This report shows how ignorant law enforcement personel is about the FACTS regarding sexually oriented offenders:

1. "we want to make sure they are actually living where they say they are living and not re-offending,"

There is absolutely no evidence that where a former offender lives detemines rather she is reOffending.

2. 12 yr old could have been his son, offense could have occurred years ago. Some offenders have children, perfectly legal, the offense may have occurred 15,20,30 years ago and the offender may today be an upstanding citizen at work supporting his family.

3. "the agents left a letter for him to contact the sheriff's office with his current information. If he chooses not to answer, he faces arrest"

Obviously the offender registered that address as required by law, now the offender must re-register or face jail?. Where is that written. Just because
he wasn't home when law decided to stop by doesn't mean he did not do what was required. Requiring an offender to be home whenever you decide to drop by is similar to someone on Parole or Probation, to attach criminal sanctions on this so-called civil registration seems unconstitutiional.y EX POST FACTO, in some cases. The Burden should be on the State to prove that the registrant does not live where reported.

4. Finally, "These people are doing exactly what we are asking and that is that they are registering. They've gone on with their lives," said Jones

Going on with their lives and not reoffending is certainly a goal for most offenders according to statistics, the problem is it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE!

Politicians create new sanctions everyday. Jones final statement sounds good, but in reality. Former offenders who's offenses were 15,20,30 years ago must bare the burden of the recent offender all the same.

The future my simply be filled with re-troactive predator sanctions.

I hear you all complaining have you taken a look at your sheriff Dept lately they barley have enough staff to patrol the roads. With all the loss of jobs and funding for the police dept and sheriff dept why dont we do something about that. Let me ask you all one question if your ploice dept is understaffed and you have a sex offender move in next door to you and no ones and he was to molest or kill your son or daughter. Who is to blame because he didnt regester and was not tracked. I am in the miltary and have been for over 28 years now. I have seen my share of things. How many of you who are complaining have walked the streets of Bagdad Iraq or drove the roads and did not know if it would be your last day because of a road side bomb. If the Feds are helping out to regester the sex offenders then so be it. I beleive we need to stand up for what is right . We need to take back our streets and towns from the Gangs and drug dealers. It should be safe for our kids and grand kids to walk the street and play with out fear of being beat up or shot. Stand up America..

Sex offenders are pretty low on my list of "people who deserve to be shown any respect". Only murderers score lower. Pedophiles aren't on it at all, as they don't deserve any respect or basic human dignity at all.

So whatever it takes to make sure the rabid animals are properly contained and watched is fine by me. I have no issue with calling SWAT out on them if need be.

Good job, Marshals. Thank you for helping our under-staffed and under-funded county sheriffs out in this task.
