A security guard who was shot in the chest outside a newly built school in Mecklenburg County said Wednesday evening that he had not worn his bulletproof vest for two years until Tuesday night when he confronted two trespassers.

OK, I don't know this guy, but I think the police need to investigate his story THOROUGHLY

Most security guards like to tell tall tales

Not anymore, but when I was in college, I worked for a security company so I could study and get paid while sitting in some factory or guard shack in the middle of the night. I could also have a couple a drinks while working.

I have met many security guards and I have never met a bigger bunch of pathological liars

Everybody that you know seems to be a liar, a drunk, a pedophile, or something else as disreputable. No wonder you have such a low opinion of everybody but yourself. You really should hang out with a better bunch of people.

Stand by and wait for the truth to come out about this incident.

The guy might be telling the truth, but I serioulsy doubt it. Too many cooincidences. Also, he is a fat guy who probably got turned down by a real police department because of his obesity.

Most of the security guards I have met are pathological liars

Maybe not this guy, but still this incident must be THOROUGHLY investigated

My grandmother used to tell me that you could judge a man by the company he keeps. You seem to keep company with a bunch of lowlifes. Therefore, I judge you to be a lowlife yourself.

Or, to put it another way, "Birds of a feather flock together".

This is just another example of your judging a person without knowing one GD thing other than what you read in a small, incomplete article. You see one fact and you extrapolate it to an entirely negative reflection of those involved. In this case, the guard that was shot.

It's the guard who was shot that YOU need to apologize to, not me.

Do you deny that he was shot in the chest and that the vest that his father gave him was teh only thing that saved his life? Sounds to me like the wound would have been fatal. Are you saying that he made that up? Are you saying that he shot himself in the chest...in the chest, mind you... to make it look like a robbery? Do you know how hard it is to shoot yourself in the chest without it being completely obvious? Are you saying he was suicidal? Are you saying that he is trying to frame innocent people by giving descriptions of the getaway car and the people that shot him? Why would he do such a thing?

Answer these questions, if you can.

I did NOT say he shot himself in the vest, but knowing the nature of most security guards, it is a very real possibility, maybe even a probability.

Have you heard anything else about this? Are the cops actively looking for the suspects? Are they soliciting the public's help?

Maybe the cops also smell a rat here

"Police released vague descriptions of the men and the car they are looking for. One of the men is a heavyset black man about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He had dreadlocks and was wearing dark clothing. The second black man was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. Investigators said they are looking for a red Honda Civic with a North Carolina tag that starts with TVP-9."

http://www.wsoctv.com/news/20367560/detail.ht...

Considering that the incident happened at night that's not too bad of a description.

.....

"but knowing the nature of most security guards,"
Does that mean that you have met and interviewed the many thousands of private security personnel and have formed this opinion based upon that data?
Or does it mean you worked with 5, may 10 guys, and have formed an opinion based upon that association? Or perhaps are your opinions based upon movies like "Armed and Dangerous", starring John Candy and Eugene Levy? At any rate, you are disparaging a young man without knowing, it appears, more than a single detail of the case. Do you wish, in you heart of hearts, that he had been killed?

NC Licence plates have 4 numbers and 3 are missing. That means the cops would have to run 1000 tag numbers to come up with the right number. I would think they would have come up with a number by now.

Also...it is not hard to come up with detailed desciptions if it comes from your very own imagination.

And...If there were trespassers, why was he calling his boss back at the office instead of calling the police?

And...How many 5'8" heavyset black men with dreadlocks live in the Charlotte area? I sure hope the Charlotte area police have not confronted 300 guys who look like that and sprawled them out on the sidewalk at gunpoint.

And...like I said, I worked as a security guard through 4 years of college for two different contract security companies. I have met literally HUNDREDS of security guards, and the overwhelming majority of them (except for retireees and college students) were stupid and/or crazy.

I will relate some great lies some of these guys told me in future threads

I would estimate that 90% of security guards are pathological liars. that means there is only a 10% chance that this guy is telling the truth

Here is a great security guard story for you.

Back in the mid 70's I was working at this hospital. Some new guy was just assigned as our "lieutenant". As a "lieutenant", it meant that he made $3.10 cents an hour instead of $2.90 an hour like the rest of us. The company was called Pinkerton, which has since been bought out by Secuitas. Thank God, we weren't armed.

He said he just got back from a special assignment as an undercover investigator with the company. He said he was working undercover as a factory worker and his jog was to catch the other employees stealing. He said "Alot of people lost their jobs...Alot of people went to jail..."

He said a few weeks after the investigation, some of the guys who had lost their jobs piled into some cars and followed him down the road and tried to run him off the road. To amuse myself, I said 'What did you do, Lieutenant?" and he said "Shot out their effing tires...". I was only 19 at the time, but even I knew the story was BS. It was very hard not to laugh in his stupid face because I knew if I acted like I believed him, he would keep telling me some more funny lies...And he did

It's as I thought. They were BSing a snot nosed know-it-all college brat. They were having a little fun at your expense, just like the rest of us. They were laughing AT you. They told lies to amuse themselves, at your expense. What a gullible little boy you must have been.

I dont think so

Here is another great security guard story.

This one guy claimed to be a martial arts expert. He said he was in Arizona one time (sometimes the story would change to Texas) when this Mexican (sometimes the story would change to Indian) pointed a gun at his belly and tried to rob him. This guy said he then used some karate move (he would demonstate) to disarm the robber, but the gun went off and he was shot. He sould then open his shirt to show us his "bullet wound". This "bullet wound" was a mole WITH HAIR GROWING OUT OF IT.

Well lookee who's back spewing his venom. Hello, A-Wipe. Always have to get in the last word whether or not it adds to the discussion, don't you? Where've you been these past several days? Prison? The asylum? Or did it get too uncomfortable under the freeway overpass?
