If you bought a shotgun instead of a stun gun and tried it out, you may help get some of the idiots off the street!

Nah, the one they used on 20/20 when they were investigating motels and hotels to see all the nasty stains on the beds that people think are clean blech

Sorry, I should have put in one on these :O).
I do know what you are talking about. I'm a big fan of one liners and play on words, so blue light special is what came to mind.

Why the guest bed...??

Well, the first bed was too hard,

The second bed was too soft,...

This same thing happened to my mother in Pennsylvania ... over 35 year ago. And it was the same scenerio.
She had been away, came home and found this man sleeping on her couch. He apparently had spent the weekend ... cooked food ... brought in her Sunday paper ... and borrowed some shoes that my older brother had left there.
But because he hadn't taken anything out of the house, they charged him with a misdemeanor!!
For the rest of my mother's life, she was afraid to go into her house by herself!!!
Somethings just never change.

Armed response to crimes,
Personal Justice, to the maximum extent allowable by law.

That's the only way to go.

It sounds like they could have also charged him with trespassing and destruction of property.

I heard of a weird loophole in a drunk driving case in our state. A guy was drunk in the parking lot of a grocery store, and he was using the car to "play" with the guy wire of a utility pole. He was charged with drunk driving since he was in the driver's seat with the keys in the ignition, and the engine running, even though it was on private property. Guess how his attorney got him off? The attorney argued that the state had forced him to break another law. There is a law which states that if you have a collision with utility equipment, that you are required to report the collision within 3 days. He could not do that because he was in jail. So the case was thrown out of court on a technicality.
