I read a quote from her that she didn't understand why she was arrested. Maybe she should have read the rules.

I'm a little confused at how they can arrest you for policy. I mean, there isn't a law out there that says you can't wear a mask in public. So, when there is an event like the DNC or RNC, what statute do they charge them with? With the mask situation, an escort outside the perimeter with a warning should have been sufficient. But how did she get a box cutter in there in the first place?

WHY did she take a box cutter in there in the first place? You can't take them on planes, gov. buildings, etc..I think there is a statute(Fed.) about things like this in place and no I'm not looking it up for you. You might start with the Ex-order of no protesting within so many feet of Secret Service/political events.(This is a new one, drafted for this event).

Apparently she had it for something to with banners being put up or taken down. Well, she was not in a plane. She was not in a government building. She was on a public street. Was she protesting? Maybe, but prove it.

YES there is such a law

§ 14‑12.7. Wearing of masks, hoods, etc., on public ways.

No person or persons at least 16 years of age shall, while wearing any mask, hood or device whereby the person, face or voice is disguised so as to conceal the identity of the wearer, enter, be or appear upon any lane, walkway, alley, street, road, highway or other public way in this State.(1953, c. 1193, s. 6; 1983, c. 175, ss. 1, 10; c. 720, s. 4.)

§ 14‑12.8. Wearing of masks, hoods, etc., on public property.

No person or persons shall in this State, while wearing any mask, hood or device whereby the person, face or voice is disguised so as to conceal the identity of the wearer, enter, or appear upon or within the public property of any municipality or county of the State, or of the State of North Carolina.(1953, c. 1193, s. 7.)

From goblueridge.net :“A couple of people in my group told me that they were screaming, like,‘she has a weapon, she has a weapon,’ and then I was like immediately taken away from the march, like, over to some side street behind a police truck.”
And then was like arrested and stuff. OMG!

Bob, WSOC had photo's of her in their gallery, face covered marching. You really don't believe with all the media coverage that a photo can't be found? I liked the one of Ms. Wright being cuffed and a lady standing next to her with small boy.

It looks like she got off lucky since according to the article in the democrat she was only charge with carrying a conceald weapon.

It seem that they did not charge her for braking the law laid out in GS 14-12.7 and 14-12.8

§ 14‑269. Carrying concealed weapons.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person willfully and intentionally to carry concealed about his person any bowie knife, dirk, dagger, slung shot, loaded cane, metallic knuckles, razor, shurikin, stun gun, or other deadly weapon of like kind, except when the person is on the person's own premises.
