Stallings first police chief set to retire

Its to bad that Lynda Paxton and all her hand picked council members have forced out Chief Plyler. He was an asset to this Town. Her micromanaging I am sure is what led to his retirement. Now just watch as the rest of the police depertment is broken down, officers cut and crime will go up. Its ashamed these jokers are ruining are town with extreme spending on parks(2 million) and are looking to spend 106,000 just ona study to widen stallings road. A road that the State offered to do but Lynda said no. No she is spending our money on a project that could have already been paid for.

I agree with you 100%. Just found this post. How can she spend our taxpayers money so easily? She must have something over each one of their heads.

I love how the police start sweating when someone threatens their cozy little job. Most of the officers are gypsyies that bounce from dept to dept. How do you justify 22 officers for such a small town. What has all the grant money gone and using dept equipment to entertain NFL players??? Evidence that comes up missing??? Its not the department it is a few bad apples that ruin it. Off duty police officers campaigning for another mayoral candidate and they don't live in the town. Hopefully this works out where everyone keeps a job that deserves it. A lot of the officers are hard working and dedicated.

If this is true, it is unfortunate.

It's nice to see that Stallings has hired a new chief from outside the area and Paxton shows grace by including him at her neighborhood coffees. Dummett seems well qualified and hopefully has some insight into the politics of the town.If Save the PD will realize that the fight is over and let it rest, there might be a chance for peace between the mayor and the department. But that is not likely to happen because there are too many people who want to keep the fire burning.

Just wondering how much research went into Dummets history? Profanity & trouble seem to sum him up as several of these comments from former coworkers of his warned Stallings officers of the "bi polar" mess that was coming our way. http://m.fayobserver.com/comments...
