I am glad this man shot that worthless predator. Maybe it will serve as a wake-up call to other negligent dog owners. My wife and I had to dispatch two Golden Retrievers belonging to people who moved into a rural area and let them run loose. I shot one and my wife went for the other with a pitchfork. It took her a few times stabbing him, but he finally lay still. The owners came over all upset because we had killed their dogs claiming they were "members of the family." What BS! A dog is no differet (or better) than any other animal. We made them get the carcasses of their dead dogs (er family members) off our property and later on made them pay for the dead goat and the vet bills for the goats that were injured. I'll bet if they ever get another dog, they will keep it on their own property!

Roastpuppy your a despicable human and I would value my dogs life over yours any day! Riley was murdered over a chicken and you say that he deserved it. What proof is it that it was the animal that killed the chickens? They live in coyote country and he let's chickens roam in open. This is a horrible thing that happened to that family and I only pray the shooter gets his just desserts!

It be OK if you shot and killed a coon or mosslame or wetabck if you caught one of them them raping your chickens? Or your dog for that matter.

First off the dog should be kept in his yard, that is the owners fault. However, the neighbor sounds like he was trigger happy and wanted to kill something, he couuld of just as easily sent the people a bill for the chickens or even sued them. Lastly he's lucky he didn't do this to my dogs cause he'd be getting payback.
