Just what we need....the illegals haven't turned this area into enough of a slum. Now we can have roosters crowing and chickens being slaughtered and cock fights. Just like living in Juarez. Maybe next they will bring in donkey shows. Puke.

omg, chickens and roosters??? i hope little kids walking home from school don't see chickens with there heads cut off running around, im sure police are going to get alot of complaints for roosters waking up everyone...bad idea.

There will be rules about how many chickens you can have, cleanliness, providing enough backyard space, and such. Roosters are not allowed b/c they're too noisy (chickens aren't). You won't be able to slaughter chickens on your property.
I see it as a BIG PRO. Farm fresh eggs, friendly animals and eco-friendly (great fertilizer for your garden). Chicago, Evanston and other urban areas are on board, it's time for the lake county suburbs to get with the program.
Zippy (above) needs to be slapped for the horrible racism in her/his post. Puke is right.

what about in the winter time? where are they going to keep them hens? it gets pretty cold out there.
and if they have to built a heated barn, better be golden eggs those hens are laying!
