you see it daily in columbia, even in their personal cars they speed. why is it the law enforcement here doesnt have enough sense to obey the laws themselves? it is a shame it cost the officer his life, i hope it is a lesson to the other officers, you are not immune to an accident due to speeding! it could have just as easily have been the other guy that was killed...or even a family and kids! when will they realize they are creating a danger to us all and because they have an official car they think they always have the right of way on the road? observe the speed limit, save a life...it could be your own. my sympathy to his family and to the driver of the other car.

I really didn't want to comment here.
But my conscience said I did.
The worst drivers in Franklin are the Police on their cell phones. In my neighborhood, my neighbor that is a Franklin Policeman speeds almost 40 miles an hour in our neighborhood going to work in the morning. We have people walking and jogging at that time. People walk their dogs at that time. This is a residential neighborhood. The signs say 20 mph. I can live with 30 mph. Dogs and cats have been killed by speeders. They say, "There is a leash law." "On Cats?!" Children don't have a leash law! It is only a matter of time a child gets killed.
I hate messing with the Police but they are not above the law.
I have posted in the past the numbers on the back of the cruisers only to have them deleted on Topix in a day or so.
I hope this does go out to someone that has witnessed the same as me.
