Tenn Care should be expanded for all Tennesseans who live with in the State at lease 9 months out of the year and do not or can not receive health care else where if out of the State for more than 3 months with and option too reinstate if and when they return to live another 9 months.

Providing the same coverage for one and all

Funded by the Loto and a State Health Care Tax
If needed.

Instead of funding Education with a lotto.

For Health care benifits and is needed at times by all.

Oh and cover all teachers who teach in the State

Friend, your solution is to bring down the drug companies?
Wow, that's freaking brilliant. Then we don't have to worry about "hypocondriac" drug addicts because there won't be any drugs.
How about an even simpler solution to taxpayer fraud from TennCare:
Get RID OF TENNCARE!
Problem solved. And we don't have to go out of state to do it. We don't have to anything to save the taxpayer from fraud.
I like that solution. Then my taxes go down.
If you get rid of TennCare, your health costs will go way up, to cover all the services provided to those unable to pay. That would mean more hospitals and doctors' closing down, from lack of income. What needs to be done is to amke those on TennCare be responsible. One doctor, and one drug store. Unless it's an emergency. And that one doctor would also be responsible for providing all referrals to any specialists needed, and any prescriptions written. Accountability is what is needed, all every level, from the patient to the doctor to the drug store to the hospitals and then the state employees who go thru the records.

Again, Friend, your thinking is so wrong and confused, it's hard to break down all of errors in your comments.

First of all, it's completely off topic. Two theives perpetrate fraud by writing fake perscriptions for hydrocodone so they can either abuse the drug or sell it to others, maybe someone else's children. The article doesn't say they got for their own consumption. Likely they were using it as an income source.

So we were discussing the liars and cons here that were caught. There is no defending what these people did at any level. Do we agree on that?

Next, you tried to evade the topic by making up some percieved problems with the healthcare system and trying to break into a "fairness" issue.

In the United States of America, the law is based on the constitution. Nowhere in the constitution or any of it's subsequent articles does it state that people have the right to free healthcare or education.

In your description above on how to change the healthcare system, you forget the most important issue. Doctors are NOT doctors to be in the charity. They do it for a living. They have high costs and high risks in their business.

The best way to control health care costs is to have tort reform and change it so doctors can't be sued like they are.

The next generation of healthcare technology is driven by the private sector. If there is a profit to be made in a cure, that's what's going to be developed for the open market.

The government isn't capable of taking a product from the development stage to the market. Communist goverments tried and have failed.

The system you describe has been tried in Cuba, the USSR, and in China. Socialized medicine simply rations healthcare and reduces growth of new technology.

I don't see the citizens of the world flocking to Canada or Mexico for their great healthcare. I do see the world comming to the US, because we have the best doctors and hospitals in the world right here.

As far as the division of costs, apparently you don't have private insurance. If you did, you would know that there is a limit to what doctors can charge and be paid for. Insurance companies do that now. Including TennCare.

Recall that Marshall Medical Center was in the red $3 million because the TennCare wouldn't pay the proper price. 25 cents on the dollar for the charge.

Hospitals already have huge tax breaks and grants for studies and research.

The best way for us to control healthcare costs is to have tort reform so doctors can reduce their main cost: litigation.

Require that everyone pay for their healthcare costs so doctors don't have to charge more to pay for those who can't.

And get the government out of the healthcare system as fast as possible.

“No defending what these people did at any level. Do we agree on that?”

1. Well I don’t agree there is no defending them, first because in this country they are innocent till proven guilty. They are also allowed a defense

a "fairness" issue”

1. Do you really think that the health care system is fair? Don’t fool your self if you think Most of Congress don’t get better health care than the person poor and sick with out any insurance or support at all.

“In the United States of America, the law is based on the constitution. Nowhere in the constitution or any of it's subsequent articles does it state that people have the right to free healthcare or education”

!. Section 8 begins the enumerated powers of the federal government delegated to Congress. The first is the power to tax and to spend the money raised by taxes, to provide for the nation’s defense and general welfare.

2. Well to start with General welfare could that not mean health care and or education?

3. Also United Nations
Human Rights Declaration
Article 26
Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.

Doctors are NOT doctors to be in the charity
Well then tell Doctors too stop taking charity from the government in the form of subsidized grants and taxpayer funded medical research.
Also in the Bible Charity is one of the Greatest Virtues of all.

The best way to control health care costs is to have tort reform and change it so doctors can't be sued like they are
1. Tort reform would violate the Constitution

The next generation of healthcare technology is driven by the private sector.
1. It may be driven by the private sector yet it is partially funded by the public sector if not fully in some cases.
The government isn't capable of taking a product from the development stage to the market. Communist governments tried and have failed.
The system you describe has been tried in Cuba, the USSR, and in China. Socialized medicine simply rations healthcare and reduces growth of new technology.
1. Maybe it did not work there does not mean it will not work here Socialized ideas can work in a Free Society if implemented in a regulatory way as to benefit both the Capitalistic benefit and the Socialistic view.
I don't see the citizens of the world flocking to Canada or Mexico for their great healthcare. I do see the world coming to the US, because we have the best doctors and hospitals in the world right here

1. What I see is the US training an educating and funding lots of the worlds Doctors and filling our schools
And hospitals with other countries Children as our children wait too find an open class or job.

As far as the division of costs, apparently you don't have private insurance. If you did, you would know that there is a limit to what doctors can charge and be paid for. Insurance companies do that now. Including TennCare.
1. Tenn. Care and insurances companies are charged the same as all yet then they negotiate their cost down in finial payment. Where by the uninsured get screwed if they pay their own.

1> You seem to want Government out of Healthcare yet you don’t want the taxpayer money and funding taken away.
2> The Federal Government needs too use Department of Health and Welfare too implements a Generalized Health Care system on the basics of Social Security for the good of all.
3> You pay in or not you are still guaranteed Free Health Care.
