Why would anyone think putting a heatlamp in a doghouse is a smart idea? No one is even mentioning the life of the poor dog! Please make sure no one gives these people another dog to replace the one they lost. The fire is the fault of adults who did not use good judgement.

Donna, not to be rude or anything, but the dog that was in question was running around the yard after the fire. No animals were killed in this fire. You don't need to chastize the family who lost everything. They know what they did was not the best thing to do, and others can learn from their mistake. Thank goodness everyone was ok with no loss of life of human or animals. Please get your facts straight before you make a comment that you have no knowlege of.
