Did you ever stop to think that the teachers may be at their wits end? Trying to control unruly students when their are no punishment available .?? Bring back the paddle, just my opinion !!!

If the paddle was allowed in the home, there would be no need for it in the school. I sure didn't enjoy the paddle, switch, or belt while I was growing up, but I sure didn't act the way kids do today. I am in retail sales and you can never be sure how to determine which is the kid or which is the adult a lot of the times. Just sayin.

I agree, The Children are the Boss, not the Parent...I have seen first hand ABUSE toward the Children and they act-up to get attention...Some PARENTS needs the PADDLE more than the CHILDREN...NO Respect for themself, nor for anyone else, SAD!!!!CPS works hard to put that same child back into the SAME HOME....Shame how FAMILS ARE NOT FAMILYS , NO More!!!!!Children are Graduating From SCHOOLS not knowing the 3Rs!!!!!

Jmo, but had it been my kid who had been doing what that kid was doing, I would have wanted him to step in & do SOMETHING!!!! I know him,& he is a good, honest, Christian man who no doubt WAS at his wits end! They have taken God out of schools. They have taken discipline out of schools. Heck, they don't even teach kids how to sign their names in cursive anymore!!!! How in the world are they supposed to endorse their paycheck someday?( ok, since this is Pt. Pleasant, their welfare check.) You get the idea. Teachers nowadays are paid too little to put up with kids who disrupt the classroom because they aren't corrected at home. When I was in school, that paddle hung there in plain view for everyone to see as a reminder of what you'd get if you didn't behave. For the majority of the kids just seeing it was enough to keep you in line. You didn't have school shootings on the news every other day back then either. You went to school. You started the day with a prayer & the pledge, got down to business of actually learning, had a real recess,a good lunch, more learning & went home. There was no texting or video games or 200 t.v. channels. You played outside til dark & did your homework. Families ate dinner together & parents knew where their kids were. I sure do miss those days! That school is going to be worse off without Mr. Jones. He was one of the good guys.:(

I agree. She's either losing it due to age, drugs, or Botox gone to her head. The campaign to harass older teachers until they retire is obvious and reprehensible. She takes good teachers away from the places they're needed and puts them in BFE in order to give friends a job. She'll look you dead in the face and lie to you. She needs to go. My only fear is that we'll get someone even worse if they don't renew her.

I don't know where you would look to find any one worse, if she gets it in for you or someone in your family,, you know what will happen......and it wouldn't be the first time, thats just my opinion!!!
