This s the 2nd time with this program that the money s going somewhere other than it was meant to!! There are a lot of other programs out there that the money will go to the kids. If you want to give money go to one of the other programs other than giving to Mason Co. cops!

The cops are not the ones who took the money. Read the entire article before you run your mouth.

The article says the money never made it into the account. The cops don't have access to the money until after it is deposited. So what company did they hire this year?

It was rumored years ago that the people running the Toys for Tots program went through the toys and took out what they wanted for their kids! SMH..

@ Old Timer...they can catch them. They are more than likely not releasing anymore information. My guess is they have contacted the company to work it out. I assume the company will pay the money back. I doubt we will hear anymore about it. The cops try to refrain from bad publicity due to being afraid they will not get donations next time around.

You sound like an idiot. THEY HAD A COMPANY that was used to HELP RAISE FUNDS. They (the guys or dept) did not have the money. I'm sorry you are not smart enough to read the entire story. Next time they should put photos up for people like you.

I don't get into all this drama stuff, but I can tell you for a fact that they do hire companies to raise money for the shop with a cop program. Police officers are not allowed by law to solicit funds, or pick up donations. They have someone call on their behalf. I know this because I worked for one of the companies they have used.(Rosewood Productions, Brazil, Indiana) The companies call, pick up, and deposit donations into the F.O.P. account. Police officers have no access to this money until after it is deposited. The manager hired from the fund raising company, or the pick-up drivers are the only ones that touch that money before it goes into the bank. I don't know anything about bad cops or whatever, because I don't live there, but the information I just stated is the absolute truth.
