If there was a grant to open a cancer unit, there wouldn’t be people complaining. Addiction is a disease! People don’t say “one day I hope to be an addict”. They are born with it! I know from personal experience. I overcame my addiction with the help of a recovery center, thank God. I use to commit crimes to support my habit, I wasn’t the mother my child deserves. I decided one day that I didn’t and couldn’t live like that anymore, so I went to rehab. Now I am a tax payer, the mother my child needs and I give back to my community by volunteering. Don’t knock someone till you have walked in their shoes. If you do a little research you will find out that most addict suffered from abuse, they then use drugs to self-medicate. It’s like someone who carries the gene for diabetes if they eat healthy they may never have symptoms from their disease.
People complain about drug addicts stealing, so you would think that now that there is a place for these people to get help you would be happy. The crime associated with addiction will decrease if there is help for people to get and stay clean. Most addicts’ hate the person they have become and want to stop but they need help. I am happy that the will have the opportunity to get the help they need and deserve!

Rehab center in Mason Co. is an OK use of money. U got to remember that the elderly folks that need help are in a project SIX MILES out-of-town due to a money-oriented (taxpayer-paid) concession made to an elected statewide officeholder. I have a problem with Prestera letting client people (ACT team w/ Prestera payee) beg/"borrow" for rides &,money. It's been happening a LOT lately. I'm still waiting on ACT Case Manager promises from a year ago to be okayed by the payee.
