They don't want to make a point. They don't even know what that means. They just want to show out and I don't see any harm in it. I think it looks stupid, but they have a right to look stupid as long as they aren't harassing anyone. Just let it go!

You people need to get a life. Who cares? They are kids. They are not hurting anyone. Most of the flags have a picture or something on them that has nothing to do with any of this.

I'm interested to know what has made you dislike other races so much?

Sooooo...you can decipher someone's race based on their reply? Ummm...no dear. Also, it's "you're" not "your". Go back to school. I can tell "you're" not educated from "your" post.

I moved here from a true Southern state. Never in my born days have I seen so many "rebel" flags. I get to KY and I wonder exactly what point are you all trying to make?
Tater day is disgusting at best.

well its pretty simple , except of those who voted for obama and likes to controll others, if you do not want to fly a rebel flag then please do not, if it bothers you to see them flown on trucks by citizens then please look away, but do not infringe on others rights to do so, it dosent really matter why or how its done, if you dont like it you dont like it, ok, move on.

If you do not like Tater Day, too bad. You can always take your sorry self somewhere else during that weekend. I am certain you will not be missed one second.

here is a free history lesson THE CIVIL WAR WAS NOT STARTED OVER SLAVERY. slavery was added later to get people to support the war because people were quickly losing support and belief in the war.the war was started because as usual the yanks were money hogs and wanted to screw us out of ours
sleepless you are 100% right. It was over unfair taxation . I visited Ft Sumpter and on that scared ground where the battle began , the historians told the group gathered the war was over slavery . I almost became unglued! So many lies are being taught it's no wonder our country is on the highway to hell.

I'm getting so tired of seeing this subject. The teenagers are gonna do it because they want to, and thats fine. I still think it's sick that no one wants to admit that this was something that started heavily after Marshall county citizens ran the step team out of the parade one year with their racist remarks and a$$holish attitudes, but those attitudes are not going to change. It's ignorance that's brainwashed into too many kids in this county, but what are ya gonna do. Let 'em fly their stupid flags that don't have anything to do with tater day, and blare their stupid a$$ rap music. Everyone have a Hap Hap Happy Tater Day!
There was an uproar over this, I remember. What was discovered was that the people responsible for that particular incidence was NOT FROM MARSHALL CO! Yes, we flew the flag years before this and there weren't any problems.

Here is a little History lesson for the uneducated about slavery you think the Southern Cross (Tennessee Battle Flag) you all call the Confederate flag represents...

There were nearly twice as many white slaves in the south as there were black; easily researched.

The majority of black slaves were not owned by white men, but free black men; also easily researched.

As for the Flag itself, it has come to be representative of anti big government and taxes just as it was back then.

Rebel flags are stupid and they show just how uninformed people are about the civil war. The yanks won. The south won't rise again.

It won't but should 90% of this countries problems come from the yank states! On to taterday the only time this county has anything to do. We Ineed to all lobby our greedy local politicians and town committee to bring things back the way things were for taterday remember the days gone by tater days ? vendors all over town big flea market lots of cool cars trucks antiques reasonable prices. Now they turn people away that wants to come sit up & over charge the people that do. If we don't stop them soon it'll be over quick every year there is a minimum of ten less vendors. It was sad this year to see how few came due to committee or pricing .

Marshall County is wonderful, and beautiful place to live work and play. We relocated here to retire and get away from the violent crime rate in Clarksville, Tn. Clarksville back in the 70's and 80's had a humble sweetness about itself that no longer exists. We rediscovered that same humble sweetness in the Marshall County community. Unless you never in an area like we did, you may not quite appreciate it until you lose it. Clarksville trays to offer it's citizens a lot of amenities, however the good citizens shy away from them due to the thugs showing up and causing the problems that they do. You have to dodge bullets when going to a Wal-Mart store or to the mall. We are so happy to be a part of this community.
