If protecting my children is a "personal issue", yes, I will push them. Anyone or anything that endangers my children will find out how wrong they were about that gun grabber assumption!
Silly wrote, "all you have done here is try and twist facts in your favor."

How so? I presented the raw data I was working from. Where is the flaw in the data or analysis? You are free to disagree with the conclusion, but I didn't twist ANY facts.
Silly wrote, "Since there are so many vicious pits in our city, maybe it would be safer for you to move out to the county. "

Or have them banned and then YOU can move out to the county. I used to own aggressive dogs and I lived in the county. I liked having them out there and felt safer. The yard was fenced so they couldn't roam, but you would think twice before jumping my fence in the middle of the night! I wouldn't dream of having animals like that in the city. The yards are too small for spirited animals like that!
why were they so aggressive
why were they so aggressive
It was the nature of that breed. They had plenty of room to roam (over an acre) and were very well cared for. There were only two of them, so they weren't cramped or crowded. There are several breeds that tend to be more aggressive like German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, Chow-Chows and Wolf-mix dogs. They can all be loving animals in the right environment and are excellent guard dogs. I didn't have any problems, but I would have been concerned bringing them into a small lot in the city. Some breeds do well in that kind of environment. Others, not so much.

Look this happened almost A YEAR ago and you ppl are STILL talking about it, None of you even know what in the hell happened, how it happened, or why it happened, Or WHO it actually affected. So why do you get over it the laws are the laws, and everything is over. SO lets leave it alone.

We want to CHANGE the laws, that's why we are talking about it! It's not about who it happened to or how it happened or anything else you alluded to. It's about PREVENTING the next innocent victim of an aggressive, perhaps fatal, dog attack. Restrictions and/or bans on certain animals are common in many jurisdictions due to the substantial risk posed. There is nothing personal about it.

Most dogs, including pit bulls, are good pets. Any breed can be made mean. It's not that pit bulls are all bad and other dogs are all good. The point is that some breeds are inherently more likely to be aggressive than others and some breeds are more likely to inflict serious damage when they do attack. Bad owners are often to blame, but not always, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the stats and see what breeds are far more dangerous than others.

Right on point with this! Lets ban soda, fried foods, cars, guns, lightes because of fires, hell...lets ban everything because we need a nanny state. Some people are just pathetic and want to run everyone elses lives and even worse want to kill a certain breed of dog because they feel they are dangerous. This is probably the same kind of person who wants to ban guns from war veterans coming home because they can be dangerous individuals. A Marine returning home from a combat zone, with PTSD can be more dangerous than a pitbull, are we gonna tell him he can't live in our city? SMH
the difference is that soda only kills the idiot drinking it. My kid can get maimed or killed by someone else's pit. If I chose not to,eat fried foods, I will not be affected by fried foods. Not so with pits. You like unlimited freedom so much, how about I be free to,shoot every pit I se. Than I won't complain about you buying as many as you want.

You're right about that. I've always said that a dog is what you put into it. The sweetest dog that I ever owned was a pit bull. He was laid back and friendly. He loved everybody. I've also owned a Pomeranian. I adopted him when he was 4 years old. His owner had died and the dog was about to be put down because he was a biter. It took us a couple years to stop him from biting us and everyone that crossed his path. Today, he only bites the dog groomer. lol He had been abused as a puppy and that's why he had such a horrible temper. Btw, we got our pitbull when he was 8 weeks old. He got along with other dogs really well also.
You guys keep saying it is the owner, over and over. I call BS. But even if I'm wrong and you are right, there are a LOT of pits owned by bad owners. Those dogs maim and kill, people. How do you suggest we fix that? How about a bad owner with a hamster. He's still a bad owner, but the rest of society is still, safe!

Hey let's turn this accident into a chance to hurt responsible owners and make our county some more money. Here in ky the pattern is lets turn tragedy into a profit margin in order to keep certain groups happy and keep others under the thumb of the man.

already lots of profit. Doctors make a boatload of money off pit bull attacks. Funeral homes make some too. Lawyers make a little suing pit owners, but they never have anything worth taking. Physical therapist get rich teaching kids how to put their life back together after an attack. That is, if they live. Lots of profit at the victims expense.
