Why should people have to come from WI. to clean up Mannington parks? There are enough youths in Mannington to clean up 20 CITY parks....The problem is they are lazy, good for nothing brats! Their parents do not teach them any consideration, manners,or right from wrong. Mannington is split into two groups 1. Rich and spoiled 2.Dirt poor and proud of it

The spolied kids get whatever they want from their parents so the parents don't have to deal with them and the poor kids have to sell drugs they steal from mommy and daddy to survive!

Mannington needs something for the kids, whether it be a bowling alley, skating rink, movie theatre, anything to get them off the streets and doing something constructive!
Let the WI kids go home and take care of their own problems they should be dealing with instead of coming here and letting Mannington kids be lazy by doing their work for them!
These kids hang out in the parks, sell drugs, have sex, you name it, they are doing it in the parks thatsomeone from another sate had to come in and clean up!!!
Where are these kids' parents?????? Make them stand up and be responsible for their own offspring!

I should have also Thanked the group from WI.!! I applaud you for leaving behind your own worries and hard times to come to WV and take care of others who may be more fortunate than you, but unwilling to do a little hard work!! Again....THANK YOU!

Interesting comments but I am glad you went back and thanked the Wi youth. They deserve it, like you stated.

To ellaborate a bit on your concern that there be something for the youth in Mannington to do. I could not agree with that more myself. A few yrs ago several of us started a youth center on Market St. It was attended but not heavily and then like a lot of things like that it faded out.

We were very blessed to have gained a a good bit of funds through grants and contributions but the adults just did not want to help with the oversite of the thing. As so often happens, it came down to a very small handful of adults doing all the work. Don't get me wrong-what was done was better than the situation without it.

There was multiple computers for the kids use. Opportunity to come there with thier friends, often we had some type of food for them and always had a canteen where they could buy small snacks and things like that. An out growth of that was a festival that they could involve themselves with, we had concerts for them and a teen talent contest.

I personally am happy about the time that I spent there in the company of the kids and a few did get something positive out of it, I beleive. All was not wasted........

hey That was wonderful for the youth of the church to help the Wi group with their mission. What else do you do? I know a lot of people from Fst Bapt. who is your youth director now?

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Pisces

Whether the excesses of the past few days are catching up with you or you're feeling drained for other reasons, you need as much rest as possible today. Once you get tired, your defenses will be down and you'll start to fret about whatever is currently nagging away at the back of your mind. You're also concerned about the welfare of a certain person, which doesn't help.
