OMG I know! What was he thinking?
A 12-foot aluminum boat? Isn't that something you would use in a small lake for fishing??
This is going to sound rude, but I'm going to say it anyway. He was transporting people back and forth, so maybe they're all used to traveling by boat, and it was nothing new to them. People come from Cuba on Dingies and rubber rafts. A 12 ft boat may have seemed like a yacht.I'm just guessing.

Nothing rude here, Gem! YOu have a good point...I just vacation up in that area and the waters can be deadly. Recently, some guy was just plunked off the rocks by a rogue wave in Bolenas, I think. No, he wasn't way down in the rocks and water, It was a wide, rock pathway commonly used. Yeah, just drug him out there and he drowned. And some lady was also swept away in the same area. It happens every year.
Whew. Thank goodness I didn't sound like my racist neighbor lol. The lady that used to do my nails told me she was one of the boat people from Vietnam, so that's what I was thinking of when I read about this guy shuttling people back and forth. I'm scared of water. Not to the extent that I won't get in a pool, but I'm not too keen on boats and large bodies of water.

Yeah, large bodies of water command respect. Sports people on the ocean and lakes lose sight of how unforgiving these waters can be. I've known a few people who have drowned and I am very careful!

Regardless if he came here in a boat or not, he left in one. No one said there was anything wrong with coming here in a boat either.

Tomales Bay is the prime nursery ground for Pacific Great White Sharks. From that, you can probably guess what happened to the man soon after he fell in the drink.

Oh no! That's horrible. Sharks are scary! Even if he didn't fall over, is it possible sharks could come near or circle his tiny little boat?

Only in the movie "Jaws" or in a Hemingway novel. Sharks will, however, attack anything that resembles a seal or other marine mammals. This is why it's not a good idea to wear a black wetsuit when diving or surfing. It is extremely rare for a shark to attack a boat, if at all.

LMAO ok, thanks. I did google Tolenas bay earlier, and someone mentioned their b/f's wetsuit being black and the fact he must not mind resembling a seal.

What if he did what? I didn't make fun of anyone dipshit. Stating the facts-that he left in a boat, is not making fun. Go learn how to spell, and try to make some sense next time you threaten me.

Be with people who know him.

He's not the first person to come here in a boat dipshit! Did the Italians fly to Ellis Island? Did the slaves fly here, because seems I always heard about them being chained on boats. What about the Mexicans that run over the border? Do they fly over the border? Finally, I know someone who was one of "the boat people" from Vietnam, so I'm well aware that people come here in boats, and saying so is not racist. Did he not leave here in a boat, or did I just make that up?

If he was so experienced in boating then he wouldn't have been in that area in a 12 foot boat. Like the old saying goes, You can lead a horse to water, just don't try teaching him boating safety.

Feel better now? Apparently being a jagoff is part of your grieving process, so please, carry on. Whatever it takes to make you feel better.
