Because it is more negative news about a religous couple, and the liberal left news media gravitates towards stories that reflect poorly on religion, and this story fits the bill!

And they needed two homes, why? Maybe one is their private church where other's can bring their sick children to be healed by them, just like they healed their own child.

This story isn't newsworthy because the couple is religious,it's that they let a innocent child die of a very treatable illness!
