It doesn't seem likely that this guy is not guilty, but it's still important to respect due process and the law. So convict him. Then put him away to rot. But don't offer any punishment until he's been convicted.

Well i would say it is a slam dunk case... I am sure they have transcripts of his online conversations and the fact he brought a toy and vaseline just proves intent.
now there is one thing I am not sure of... could an investigator posing as a mother offering her kids up for sex be construed as entrapment?

Yeah, I'd say the defense has its work cut out for it. Seneca wrote: now there is one thing I am not sure of... could an investigator posing as a mother offering her kids up for sex be construed as entrapment? But there's the rub. It'll all depend on the conversations as to whether it can be construed as entrapment. Personally, in the case, I think if it winds up being ruled as entrapment then the investigator needs to be castrated/fixed/sterilized or otherwise mutilated painfully. Something to remind other investigators that breaking the law can lead to real sickos getting off scot free when they should be going to prison. Maybe I'm overreacting a bit, though.

In a trial, any trial, it's not about the case or the laws that were broken. It all comes down to one team arguing with another team - each trying to sell something to a group of twelve. At the end of the day, someone wins, and someone loses. It's sad but true. Justice is blind and deaf. He who presents the best arguement wins.

This guy is toilet scum. He's lower than toilet scum. He's what toilet scum calls toilet scum. No, he's lower than that. He's not fit to be toilet scum's toilet scum.
Put him in prison for life w/o parole. In pink panties and high heels.

I just read that the pervert tried to hang himself & the jailors stopped him. Hang the jailors too! Look how many tax dollars we could have saved.

I wonder how many parents have auctioned off their children for sex to buy street drugs. And the fact he was himself was a prosecutor will just make Bubba LOVE him all that much more when he gets to PRISON.

My suggestion in another post on this topic was just shoot him in the head and be done with it. Save the tax payers and a bullet cost less then keeping his sorry butt for no telling how long before a trial. Besides this would insure he doesn't get a slap on the wrist and sent out to re offend.

Everybody is trying to think up the most terrible torture, instead of doing something REAL.

This is someone who should never walk free again as this sickness has not ever been remedied and future offense would likely end in the death of a child to prevent identification of pervert. The liberal attempts to treat these people are ineffective and we are tired of our youth being endangered. These people belong in serious stringent maximum security for the rest of their natural lives.Period.This is a small price for the safety of our children,

Just so I'm clear:
I'm not saying "let's try to understand this guy".
I'm not offering any sympathy to *him*.
I *am* saying that we need to be careful to respect the laws of our land and cherish the freedoms we enjoy *even if it means making sure that someone like this gets a fair trial*.
In fact, I believe it's *very* important he get a fair trial. Because I believe he's guilty. The worst, in my mind, would be for him to get off because of a badly handled trial and be walking free again.
Innocent until proven guilty protects *all* of us.
That means the government needs competent lawyers. Just like other rich folks.

Why would this guy ask for a court appointed lawyer? To my understanding and experience there is an income or assets threshold. Usually only the indigent or nearly so meet the requirement.

Added thought. This perv was a federal prosecutor and had not been fired in the recent purge. I would deduce from his behavior or his meeting the Whitehouse criteria he must be a rethugnican.
