Gordon, with you having much of the work done, I would like to see a large group collectively assemble and put a final end to any corruption. Gov. Martinez would have to recognize a large group and involve the Attorney Generals office in the matter. I understand the challenges one faces when approaching corruption but it is the peoples responsibility to clean their own house. I commend you on your efforts thus far and I feel confident that if you had the physical support needed you would have another go at it. Thank you for your service to your community, it means a great deal to everyone.
Thank you for the kind words of support. Yes, it is up to the locals to invoke their rights locally. It is definatly a hard thing to remove the fear that attaches to the task of confronting our so called leaders. The people have been controlled so long that apathy seems to be the safest path to walk.

I'd like to ask Mr. Mast if you had the get together at La Fonda's some time ago, if so I'd like to know how that went. If you got as many signatures that you needed or were required, and if you had enough volunteers helping you when you were trying to get everything together for the CGJ ? I remember reading the article after all was said and done, think it said something about some matters being past the statute of limitations and they didn't, or couldn't do much about some things, sorry can't remember all that the article said, but sure do remember seeing a lot of work you did go right down the sewer. Do you think you'll take it on again or let someone else take over ? Either way, what exactly is needed from other citizens/volunteers ? Maybe this time around more people can get involved to eliminate the corrupt, unethical, dishonest leaders in this county. Don't know if this newspaper would cooperate in publishing something about it, sure wouldn't hold my breath, but one never knows.

I'm not sure which meeting you are referring to, but I feel anytime a meeting is held and one person is present that actually hears; it is a sucessful meeting, just some are more sucessful than others.

As far as "taking it on again", really will depend on my health and how many people want to learn, as I am still teaching several others on some of the steps that can be taken to stop corruption.

Re: the Grand Jury findings, If you would like my complete opinion as to the results, I would be more than happy to speak with you about it and turn over the evidence as to why I feel the way I do,.

Readers digest version: "WE were robbed of Justice by a decietful Judge and District Attorney and I can prove it.

However, it seems no-one really cares.

If you look at the overall results of the CGJ , We won...Scott Vinson moved on (unpunished, but gone), the County Attorney left town, as did Gilmore and many people are no longer in former positions of power, the FEDS seem to have finally responded to numerous requests by many individuals from Luna County, more people have come forward with information re: City officials and things happening within the School District, so we did win in the long run.

We should really hold a Community meeting and discuss whether we , as private citizens are going to demand open Government in our County or are we going to walk the easy path of APATHY?

FREEDOM is not FREE; never was, never will be!

Thank you for answering my inquires. Seems it turned out somewhat better than I thought, but maybe not as good as you'd hoped, especially now that you've explained who left town/stepped down, and some other matters. I think a community meeting would be a good thing for people that want to help or know what's going on. Good luck and hope your health is better, and thank you for all your efforts.

I would be willing to go through all the steps needed and show you where the stumbling blocks are, if you would like. I have already looked into the process. My number is in the book ,..give me a call if you would like any assistance in learning the process. Every citizen should learn these things....it's the only way to control the ARISTOCRACY THAT WE HAVE ALLOWED TO BE CREATED.
Mr. Mast, I would absolutely be interested. I will look you up in the book. Expect a call from me within the next day or two.

I liked it when they put up those murals by the Deming Arts building and Suncrest building. Thought it added beauty and character to our city. Things like that haven't been done in a long time. I've said it once and I'll say it again: Deming has the potential of being a great city. The people who we elected to leads us need to start doing their jobs so we can follow and get it done.
Good idea.

With the upcoming elections of a new mayor and councilmen not being too far away, there are many ideas expressed here that should be revisited, one especially; the headlight, where is the coverage on the canidates forum from last Thursday. I have seen no mention of it in the newspaper.
