Smithfield and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union will deliver 30,000 pounds of protein to the Feedmore Food Bank - to replenish the food distributed in the aftermath of the quake.

So the good folks of Va will take a handout from a union? Up is Down, Black is White in America! Oh, and please, no one tell Eric Cantor about this.

Was at the show last night. It was great to see a community come together like ours has. Alan did something no other musician offered to do for such a small community. Thanks to him for all the help and for giving us one hell of a good time!

"One of the concert's sponsors, Smithfield Packing Company, Inc, announced at Sunday's concert that they will be donating 120,000 fresh meals to the FeedMore Food Bank."

1) The community did not come together because of the "disaster"... they came together because it was a concert. 2) Alan Jackson did not offer to do it for mineral. It was a contest and mineral won with votes.

Sorry - they're now able to open the school so it's not "FOR SALE"-- but we'd be happy to have Louisa student who wants to come on over!

I have to disappoint you, whites weren't the only hillbillies there. We come in all colors!

I have a different understanding of the situation. He was willing to help a disaster stricken area. We as a community voted the most to have him appear. Stop being so negative and be thankful that someone of his stature was willing to help. Think about the entertainers that are actually from this area and didn't offer anything. It was a win win situation, we got to hear a great singer and raised money for a good cause.

Won't say if I'm black, white, latino or whatever. What I am saying is that we all have a little redneck, gangsta or whatever else in us. I seen a variety of nationalities at the concert and we all were showing our hillbilly side!
