The time has come to find out if these politicians are sincere to help us in Louisa county or if it all about themselves and their wealthy friends. I say we will not get any assistance from the Governor or Eric Cantor. Let us not forget the outcome of this in the next election. If they cannot help us, we should vote them out of office.

Sorry Louisa County but the earthquakes are yesterday's news. Even as the aftershocks continue it's still yesterdays news. Bozo Bob & Lil' Bush Cantor strolled thru the damaged areas for their photo ops with concerned looks on their faces. Good luck getting those two flash bulb hungry politicians to do anything to help you now. Bozo's back in the hair salon and Cantor has returned to his duties of handing Bonehead Boehner a tissue every time he cries. They'll be back if the big one ever happens again but until then, you might want to consider bake sales to raise money.

I do not know if Louisa county votes Republican or not.....if they do, you get what you voted for-----"fiscal conservatism." Remember, this is the party of personal responsibility, including taking care of your own earthquake debts.

Make no mistake, I am for earthquake relief, but I vote Democrat.

Don't get too comfortable. A quake 4 times bigger than the one we had would be a 6.2. It's not as great news as it sounds.

Because you stated you vote democrat...Not vote for the candidate who is best qualified, just a democrat. THAT is you narrowminded view..only democrats deserve your vote...

I know what "billy" means. Qualifications are not the only criteria. Stance on policy matters. I agree with Democrats' policies a lot more than Republicans'. Their priorities are more sensible to me.

As to help from the government....don't hold your breath. The cost of the hurricane damage all up the east coast, plus the earthquake damage is $2.3 billion, I believe they said. FEMA has only $800 million on hand. Cantor said any increased funding to FEMA would have to be offset by budget cuts. How long do you think it will take for them to fight that out? Yeah, better have some bake sales and car washes.

"billy"...Huh? The candidate's "stance" on the issue IS part of the qualifications. You blindly following a party line shows how little you actually THINK. The guvmint hasn't helped me get a job yet, hasn't paid me to go look for work, hasn't "helped" me in any way. What "policies" do the democrats espouse that you so heartily agree with? When a tree came down and destroyed some of my belongings in the last storm, I didn't look to the government to "help out", I got to work cleaning it up.

How many democrats have you voted for? And, there is no blind following. I know what bo

That's great that you know what both sides say...BUT, you can't say you "vote democrat" IF you listen to both sides and vote for the candidate who you feel is best qualified. Now, IF you had said that so far, the candidates who strike you as "best qualified" happen to be democrats, that is different. Your statement that you "Vote democrat" by its definition excludes other party candiates. If you claimed to "vote republican", I would offer the same argument.
