As a volunteer there, I can tell you this was a WONDERFUL animal sanctuary and the animals were very happy and well cared for. I loved every minute I have spent there. If you're looking to adopt, now is the time. There are so many loveable cats ready for new, forever homes. As a volunteer I am also available to transport animals!

Are there dogs at this shelter?

There were about 8 dogs but from what I understand they all have had placements except for one. He is a special case dog who would probably do better with a single human companion, preferably male. We suspect the dog (9 yrs old) had an abusive past and Love For Animals was caring for him.

It's sad that the place has to close down. I wish I owned a farm, I'd take them all. As for the sociopaths that troll in here, don't respond in anyway to their gibberish.I pray they all find homes.

What a wonderful thing Debra has been doing & so sad that it seems to be falling apart. Sad for Debra and especially sad, possibly tragic for the cats. I hope that she is able to make other arrangements in time.
On a much smaller scale I take in rescue cats, many with special needs. Right now I have 9, but I've had as many as 12. They are all indoors with me. If I can convince my partner that we have room for 1 or 2 more, we will come down and visit you. If not, I will just make a donation. Either way, good luck & God Bless!

Now that there won't be a animal shelter, people will start dropping off pets on country roads to fend for themselves.
I hope that won't happen.
