Officers knocking at my door at 2:30am to inform me that I have 1 hour to move my car or risk having it towed because I'm parked on a snow emergency route.

That sounds reasonable, right? I'm the jerk for parking there. Except for the fact that I park my car in the same place in front of my home year round - including during the far more severe snow storms of last winter!

The officer informed me that the county had "gotten into trouble" over cars parked in the snow emergency route last year. Apparently, they neglected to inform the public of such, however.

So rather than give me a phone call or mailing me a notice in advance, they send the police door to door in the middle of the night with threats and no offer of assistance!

God forbid I was physically incapable of speed shoveling through the mountain of snow they plowed over my car, or aggravated an injury in the process. Oh, wait! I did! Thanks to Loudoun County, I now have to call into work tomorrow because my rotator cuff injury is acting up!

So, after my ordeal I feel I should complain. I go to the county website and fill out a complaint form. I hit submit and the button does NOTHING. Fantastic! I can't even let these schmucks know that I'm angry with them!

For this I pay extra (on top of my taxes!) for the "privilege" of parking on the street in front of my home?

Thanks for nothing, Loudoun County!

Maybe you should be aware of the STATE CODE regarding snow emergency routes and be aware that if there is 2 or more inches of snow your car needs to be moved. The Deputies could of legally towed your vehicle with out even informing you but they took the time to inform you on top of dealing with the numerous car accidents around the county. And your car wouldn't have been plowed if if you did not park in the emergency route. All of the weather forecasters stated 5 plus inches of snow so you have no excuses other than ignorance of the law and laziness. So stop being a whiney bitch and man up. That is all.

Oh, good. An expert!

So you know all of the state codes, genius? No? Of course you don't. Why would you? Particularly when the state has never followed those codes before. They decided to begin enforcing this policy now after years of never enforcing it. So again I say they should have notified the public in advance of the change in enforcement.

Oh, and to add to my previous post. After I moved my car out of the PARKING LANE as requested, they didn't plow it. It's now snowing again and they still haven't plowed it.

Thanks for the response though, asshole.
