News on the street is that the school board met last week and making plans for a mountain retreat, hot tubs and room service. They usually take alot of school people and spouses. Seems like the director wants more money and they don't want to talk about it in public. If the school board has money for a retreat and more money for the directore, why didn't the school board give the extra money to Loudon for the SRO's? What a mess.

Did anyone attend the school board meting and was this discussed or is this a bunch of BS?

Is there extra money in the budget to give to the SRO, or is the school broke or not?

Todays front page Newless, "Wayne Miller set to retire." Maybe theres some truth to the school board wanting to go away for retreat and talk to Vance about mo pay so he won't leave but I think if theres extra money that it should go to the SROS.

A few years ago I asked about the retreats the Board takes to the mountains. I was told it was all paid by Federal money that has to be spent on the Board's education. If they didn't go away like that, they wouldn't get the money. I was also told that no county tax money is used on the retreat.

Everyone seems to want to blame the City, but Jason Vance was notified last January that the city was going to stop funding. Doesn't seem like he is did anything about it until this summer and then tried to make it look like he knew nothing about it.

Not everyone City Skipper believes Jason's bs.
Loudon notified Jason Vance and school board more than 1 year ago way before the last budget was even approved. Vance and the board is making Loudon to be the bad guy.

This is dumb anyway. No other county even debates this junk. They just take care of it. The schools don't even have to pay nothing.

Loudon County is one big disfunctional screwed-up side show. The few who come across as competent and professional are drowned out by the clowns and politicians.

You get what you elect in both the City and School Board.

60,000 should more than cover the cost of the SROs. I agree with Max. We need strong leadership and stop letting the corruption and infighting. The Government even the county government is here to protect and service the people. Not get elected and get rich.
Maybe the Sheriff's office will take over the duty of protecting the children for the 2 schools. I for one am sick of the GOOD-Ole boy politics.

Oh and one more thing we all know 2 cops don't make 75,000 apiece but if they do they are way over paid.
