Stop Lights

Why in the name of Thomas Edison doe's Lenoir City need or want so many useless,time wasting, gas wasting, air poluting stop lights? Some of them are useful but most are just annoying. I don't see what the use of all those lights on Broadway is. The one at Lenoir City High School is only useful at the start and end of the school day. Why is it left on at night, on weekends,school holidays, all summer ect ect? Has anyone ever thought how much gas is wasted, how much the air is poluted,or just how many nerves are grated by these non essential stop lights?

I don't know about the amount of lights, but I did notice something about the new ones.
The turn lights, the arrow ones, they are arrows even when red. I know common sense should tell you that red means no go, but I guess because its a red arrow instead of just a round red light, it confuses people.
I have seen atleast five people turn left on one of these red arrows.
I am starting to think we need lil signs up there by them!
