When these folks come up for election remember to vote out the ones who wouldn't even discuss cutting their own pay when its proven to be excessive.

This would not be so bad if it weren't for the fact that Mr. Miller gave them statistics that show they are paid more than any other County Commission for a county the size of Loudon and much larger.
Can Loudon Countians really be that much more difficult to "serve"?
Let's face it. These are cushy part-time jobs that bring in considerable extra income for these people who are supposed to be public servants.

Commissioner Bob Franke just doesn't get it. He voted to raise property taxes but he couldnn't vote to cut his own pay.

I heard he was very disrespectful to one of the citizens who spoke Monday night.
This is shameful and all who were not willing to give up a little dough should not be reelected.

Do you really think any person would vote to cut thier wages? This should have been left up to the voters and placed on the ballot and not given to the people that it effects to vote on it. Plain dumb ass stupid.

Give Franke credit for at least going on the record and taking responsibility for his decision. The half dozen other commissioners never even tried to justify their actions or explain their positions.

What is stupid is expecting these people to rise to the higher standard we are supposed to be able to expect of them.
Does this not scream like most everything else politicians do "what's in it for ME?"

If this is going to be considered part-time employment for these guys, have them come in to the annex to do their work, clock in and out, and pay them by the hour.
Mr. Franke says he earns his salary. That may well be, but what does he have to prove it. And how much does he consider himself worth per hour of time spent on the job as a public servant.

Rufus has the right idea. Push for a referendum at the ballot box. Let the people decide!

Frankes an idiot and so are a couple of others on commission. He's got it wrong, he owes us money, not the other way around.

Let me get this straight. The commissioners are not supposed to discuss whether or not they want to vote on their salary pay cut outside of a public meeting.
Isn't emailing back and forth and making the decision to not to put it on the agenda and essentially hoping it will be forgotten breaking the rule for public meetings.
I thought Mr. Harrellson's email was especially telling. And Franke was conveniently unavailable for the next meeting. Duff's was just basically a "vote" to let it die.
So much for open government and the sunshine law.

Franke has become the new Calvin Kline of Loudon County so I'v heard, Mr. Spiffy himself is telling members of the public how to dress. How rude of you Spiffy Franke.
