It seems that van shaver only puts the comments that he wants on the blog for people to see. If it goes against someone that he is in contact with he doesn't post it. Just goes to show you that politics are in everything!!!

Van oh Van... I must admit that I do go to the website every now and then cause well sometimes I just like to see what he has to say! I know that we all have our thoughts on a subject but this man tells you how he feels. I agree with some and I disagree with some! I cant help but to think that if this man runs for Mayor then we will have to get into his bandwagon and begin to think the way he does. He is a good christian man and I admire him for that, but I have been around him and I know that if you dont think like him then he will no longer talk to you and he is a little pushy with his beliefs! I am beginning to wonder if he wants in office so he can get us to thinking the way he does

I don't think so. He likes a lot of people and a whole bunch like him and they do not necessarily agree with everything he does. I have never seen him get mad enought at them to get even. Van would be a great leader in this county. He doesn't care to speak out about the right things. Everybody has an opinion as long as you are honest and not trying to bully people around it doesn't hurt one thing to speak your peace. That doesn't mean that it will come to pass. There are other elected officials that have a say also. It scares me to death to think certain people in this county could run for that job and win. It would be worse than it is now if they did. We are going to have to think a long time for the people that will be running in the next county election. Steve Cook, Van Shaver, and whoever is decent that runs for Judge Russell's job will be my pick. I don' think we can go wrong at all.

Uhhhhhhhh...the good ol' boys are the ones that are in now. Don Miller is nothing to me. I do not live in Tellico Village. I do know that a lot of Villagers are mad at him right now. I didn't say you didn't have a right to vote. Did you read my post right? I was explaining to you that Van doesn't get upset with you if you do not believe he does. Where are you coming from? geesh! Sorry you took that post all wrong.

Honey you dont have to live in Tellico Village to feel the effects of Don Miller. COUNTY means everybody.(Tellico Village, Loudon, Phildelphia, and Lenoir City) Van was censured by the county. What does that tell you? He runs his mouth to much and dont know when to shut up. Think about it? You want someone in there who talks alot of stuff about the guy who is in office right now cause he lost against him and runs his name in the ground. Sounds like a judgemental Christian to me! You are right about the "good ole boys" being in there right now but only as police officers. They are mad that Tim won the last election cause they didnt get their way and become cheifs! They did this whole little drug bust thing together but first they got a "undercover" guy to buy things from the drug dealers. Let me add that they let the "undercover" out of jail first and put him back on the streets. When it was all said and done they drug dealer beat the crap out of the "undercover" for ratting them out. When he asked the "good ole boys" to protect him, they said the sting was over and the couldn't. Quick run here.... let him out of jail to buy drugs, arrested the boys and girls, druggies are then not charged, beat the crap out of the guy and the police say that it is not there job to help him. After they put him through that. Wow thats who I want out there to protect me and my kids!

In response to Workin away:

By all means, you are welcome to disagree with Van and oppose him in his beliefs and/or actions. I lived with him for the first 23 years of my life, and I certainly didn't agree with him all the time. However, if you are going to criticize, make sure your facts are correct. In your most recent post, you say he was "censured by the county." This is a patently false and libelous statement.

Again, criticism, dissent, and disagreement are to be expected and even welcomed when someone actually does their job in a political arena. However, I would ask that, if you are going to do so, please base your criticisms on facts rather than fiction. Thank you.

Austin, you don't have to tell me what a great dad you have. I know it because look at yourself. Your mama and daddy did a great job of bringing you and your brother up. If he can manage getting two boys in the posistion that you all are, then I know he can manage this county. And Van was not censured by this county. That is a bare faced lie. He was asked to leave the Republican party. He even posted the letter on his blog. He is not ashamed of it. He just couldn't back Doyle Arp as our County Mayor. Now I think the people knows why he could not back him. Don't worry, because your dad will not be accepted by that bunch of crap that has hold of our county now. He speaks the truth about them and does it after he has gone out and checked on things that really happen. If it is going to a meeting, going to the court house for records, gong to look at warrnats, or anything else he needs to show the truth, then he will go after it. As I have said many time before, he is what we need in this county to lead. He has my vote and my confidence. That is one thing I do have the freedom to do and that is to vote for who I want to. I know there are bullys out there that will do things to get peopole to changet their minds by threats of jobs, etc. I am telling the people of this county to go cast your vote for the person that you truly believe will be the best person for this county and forget Republicans and Democrats. That is a bunch of bull hockey anyway! Thanks for listening!

Well at least Loudon County has it own comedy bog. I do wish the Comedy team of Shaver and Shaver would take it on the road however, they are only hurting Loudon County by being in local politics

This Topix blog is the comedy spot and you Mr. lewis are the big attraction.

Do the people of Loudon County want an honest man as County Mayor or not? So far there's only one honest man on the ballot and his name is Van Shaver.

I live in The Village and my dog could do a better job than the people in office now. So please vote for Rex Von Rover Pierre' Champagne for Most Highest Potentate and Grand Poobah Royal Dictator of Loudon County, Tennessee. Rex and myself will be in a tent on Bon Street all next week just humping legs and shaking hands. Since I'm a germaphobe with a compulsion disorder, Rex will be doing all the hand-shaking. This should be a real exciting time. As Rex once said while he was whizzing on Doyle Arp's shoes, "You ain't seen nothing yet."

I wonder how bad Republicans would have to screw things up before Loudon County would ever give a Democrat a fair chance.

Whizzing on Mayor Arp's shoes... What a lovely extemporaneous thought...
I'm also from the Village and I'm tired of listening to these boorish rednecks complain about their schools and their crooked politicians.
Perhaps my miniature poodle FiFi should participate in the political process? FiFi knows how to handle rednecks.
I never tip the waitress at the Toqua unless she brings a tidbit for FiFi! Sometimes i never tip at all just to keep them guessing about what it takes to please me!
Life is such a lark!
