The "monorail" presented by SADD looked more like a coffin.

The Humane Society for best decorated pick up? It was a box truck, not a pickup and it looked like a Special Ed project. Didn't anyone notice the backward N on the sign that proclaimed "NEW LAND"?

You saw things differently than quite afew other people did!
Isn't it a little early in the season to start playing grinch, or did you have a particular interest on a particular float?

Just calling it like I saw it and many people that I have spoken to. It is a bit early to bring up the grinch reference isn't it? We are still in October.

That is exactly my point! It is a bit early for you to deny what the judges and other people saw. You sound bitter and sour grape like. You didn't answer the question. Did you have a particular float in mind? Had you answered the question, maybe you could have had people agree with you. YOU definetly sound like a GRINCH!

Maybe you should volunteer some of your spare time & energy to help decorate the Humane Society's truck, or walk dogs, etc.

Having previously been a volunteer with the Humane Society, I would gladly return and help when the current leadership leaves and stops using their power to fulfill their personal agendas and self glory. It is a shame that they are wasting so much money on the dream of a Taj Mahal.

Just as I thought, You ARE bitter. Maybe you should approach the issue in a different angle. Instead of expecting "leadership to leave"
Get in there and quietly do and accomplish things and projects that people will notice. to whine accomplishes nothing, to DO accomplishes a lot. Besides, isn't it about the little critters that can't fend for themselves? All of you so called volunteers want recognition. It doesn't make sense. In my book, the satisfaction of accomplishing something for the good of another human being or Gods creatures without expecting something in return is the best reward.

You really need to be more specific. It's well known that a new shelter is needed because the old one we house our strays in is disintegrating before our very eyes. Please provide your facts with regard to how much money is being wasted and exactly on what? If you have no such facts, then I suggest you stop spreading rumors. I do know that some volunteers have been told their services are no longer needed or desired. Perhaps you are one of those.

You know, ANY member of the Lincoln County Humane Society can go into their offices & request to see any and all of the financial records. They hide nothing! Their current shelter is in deplorable condition, too small, and very hard to maintain a safe & healthy environment for the many homeless, neglected & abused cats & dogs of Lincoln County. The folks who give many hours & much energy for the welfare of those animals have no personal agendas...their only agenda is the welfare of the animals in their care. Why don't you get involved & find out the truth?

That backwards "N" got your attention didn't it? You might also remember that this is Ruidoso, not the Rosebowl Parade in Pasadena.
And did you know that several of those dogs being walked by volunteers were adopted immediately after the parade? Now that's a successful parade, whether you like the decorations on the truck or not.
