now this is the type of buggy accident ya'll should be concerned about. Not the accident where the other driver is distraught and facing the consequences.

I was waiting for the "seat belt" chorus to start singing, but I guess it's still to early in the day for them.

Lets talk about this accident was at night and the buggies should have blinking lights because they are going too slow! I am sure the person that hit the buggy fells horribly and this will be a life changing event for him or her.

Lets not discuss slowing down (to the speed limit) and paying attention. I am positive we can all give him great excuses for his actions.

Pay attention when you drive and nobody would have this problem. How do u not see them.well unless your going 100 on a back road and have no other choice to hit them. Some people should not drive vehicles.

There is no excuse for anyone who hits a buggy, a car, a person, a dog, etc. and then drives away. I don't see how anyone could hit anything and not know it...I hope they catch you, you coward!

They obviously knew they hit it and for some reason ran - drunk or drugged up perhaps? That would be my guess...

You can still use the other link I think. They still have not identified the driver of the truck.

The light counts against the woman that killed the Amish baby a couple of weeks ago:

"Lacey E. Northrup, 27, Lowville, has been summoned to Harrisburg Town Court to face charges of following too closely and failing to exercise due caution when approaching a horse"

coupled with not releasing this guy's name in this car-buggy accident does not look or sound good for our Amish neighbors.

Who is this judge anyway?? Is this the same bad judge I've heard about in the past or are they all like this around here??

Maybe some outside intervention needs to be done to keep our area up-to-date with the rest of the country.

Oh wait, It's not the judge...it's the cops that do the charging of people and releasing of names! Wow. My mistake, it's the cops.

(We don't even NEED good lawyers around here.)

The Watertown Daily Times wrote a story that this guy turned himself in Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.

Today the Lewis County Sheriff's Department writes that he turned himself in last night, Tuesday evening, Dec. 3, 2012.

Interesting, to say the least. Guess that leaves all of us to speculate.
