Sorry you feel that way...
You obviously have not lost anyone in the military or want any part of the military pride that these men and women share. If you understood military life, you would understand how different a way of life it is for many soldiers away from home. Try visiting a USO if you can find one and ask one of the soldiers there what it is like being away from home around the holidays, without family. Better yet, try talking to a soldier who wants to show their pride in what they do for this nation. Even better yet, ask people why when they see a soldier or someone who carries recognition that they were in the military, why other people say thank you for your service. Some people still do care and I have had many people say thank you for your service when they see my flags of the navy and the American flag attached to the back of my wheelchair that I ride with pride and have had many people tell me thank you for your service. The other day, I was having a very bad pain day and someone actually came up to me and shook my hand and told me, thank you for defending our country. I forgot all about my pain and left with a smile on my face for being appreciated.
Have you ever thought about what Memorial Day really means? Pearl Harbor was one memory that will live with a lot of veterans and their families. If this ever happened again, would you be sick of it then? It's not you that is fighting but men and women who believe in this nation for the principals it once stood for.
Give the dead their due, they gave their due to your nation!
