Obama doesn't have to worry about ACORN faking votes for him, every "life-long Republican" on every Topix thread seems to be voting for him.

Oh,,,as a life long Democrat, I'll be voting for McCain.

I can feel your frustration. Perhaps in the near future ...both parties will transform into new institutions .. instead of far out right or far out left, a third and/or fourth party will arise that will lead to the death knell for both tradition parties ... new parties that with difference will still try to work together for the good of our country ... and not try to divide it. With any luck .... Democratic and Republican parties will disappear.

Every election cycle we hear from so-called "life-long" Republicans who have had enough ... Sure, and I'm Santa Claus.

I'm hoping Snowball is right; or hopefully a move to a Parlimentary form of government where ALL the people are represented in our government.

I remember the pride in being Republican when Sens. Hugh Scott-PA, Ken Keating-NJ, Jacob Javits-NY, Everett Dirkson-IL and many others joined with Democrats to break the filibuster blocking the historic civil rights legislation of the 60's.I remember governors like Bill Scranton-PA and Nelson Rockefeller-NY who stood for both good government and an open, inclusive Republican Party. I also remember the sharp right turn taken by the party with Nixon's southern strategy and how former Democrats sick of civil rights fled to the GOP. The beginning of the Reagan years marked the end of debate within the GOP and re-defined in most narrow terms what it meant to be Republican. Lincoln might find it very strange to learn where our party has wandered.

I'm always suspicious of "life long Republican/Democrats" who suddenly have an epiphany for the opposite party's candidate...

You mean, somebody who squeaked by in the Naval Academy because of his bloodlines, somebody who crashed a few planes in 'Nam and somebody who was a major player in the S&L scandal.

It's all there for the reading.

Comrade Jeff,

Wow! A lot of invective, innuendo with no evidence or plain facts to prove anything.

The only thing you prove is that you where, at lease, if you told the truth, a phony Republican.

You accuse Republicans of being religious zealots? You ignore Rev Wright's comment. You know him. He was Nobama's pastor for over 20 years. He said G-damns America.

You accuse Republicans of being homophobes, because they believe a marriage to be by one man and one woman. Astonishing. Even Nobama and Nobiden said they support that idea. At least for the election, anyway. See they will say anything that Americans want just to get elected.

You accuse Republicans of being bigots? Well I think your own Messiah is the one guilty of that, not Republicans. Remember, Nobama was the one that charged Americans, especially Pennsylvanians are bitter and there turn to religion and guns. A Clear attack on Americans, because Americans believe in all Constitutional rights. Nobamas charge demonstrates that Nobama is a bigot against religion and second amendment rights of Americans.

I don't believe you at all because you because your charges are all phony and made just to attack Republicans for being Patriotic Americans. Democrats are going the way of the Communist party. The US communist party has officially endorsed Barack Nobama for President. Some endorsement.

Real Americans call that the kiss of political death.

I can't wait until Obama wins this election and many other democratic nominees overwhelm the House and Senate, then maybe you'll realize that your party is rapidly falling apart :-)

To the left, Powell was a liar and war criminal just a few years ago. Now you cite him as your hero, a man to be trusted and followed. Now that is principle.

Lifelong Republican? For anyone whose "Life-long" experience includes the last 30 years, Republicans have been for lower taxes, free markets, strong military, individual accountability, limited government and pro-life. Are you now opposed to these ideals, all of a sudden? Or, do you believe they are now part of the democrat platform?

If you support Obama, you either:

Are opposed to the ideals you have held "Life-long", which means you probably never really held them in the first place,

or

Truly believe that Obama and the democrats have adopted your "Life-long" held ideals, in which case your are either uninformed or a simpleton in whose hands a vote is more dangerous that a nuclear weapon in the hands of Ahmedinejad.

It amazes me how many "Life-long" republicans are willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Then we have the Republican Michelle Bachman screeching for the INVESTIGATION of ALL DEMOCRATS in CONGRESS and in the SENATE to see if these elected leaders have any 'ANTI-AMERICAN' thoughts........

"Katrina Vandenheuvel said:
Chris, I fear for my country. "

"Even Pat Buchanan was shaking his head, grimly acknowledging that he doubted that any member of Congress could be called anti-American."

Here's ONE SOURCE:

BACHMANN HAS THE SAME BIO AS PALIN!

VOTE DEMOCRAT!!

GIVE US AMERICANS BACK OUR COUNTRY!

Well Jeffrey, seems you're going to be in for a real eye-popping, bleeding ear experience if Obama takes office. Remember the "moderate" Democrats who held the office of the presidency in the past such as Bill Clinton? Kiss that memory goodbye because Obama is far-left and is going to undo any good and sensible influence a "moderate" Democratic president has ever had on the country if there was some !!!! Just wait until Obama has unemployment at record heights and reinstates the welfare rolls as long as Santa's scroll........
