"Da chickens is coming home to roost Bobby Bouchet."

You gonna lose all your foosball friends Mr. Carpenter.

So they are the lowest paid in the state eh? Well excuse me for not feeling sorry for the lowest man on the 50K+ salary pole. It's not like they are performing brain surgery over there on 8th Street.

"Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz voted against the salary increases, while commissioners Bill Carpenter and Larry Stohler, who was absent from Wednesday's meeting, voted for them."

Looks like the DEMOCRAT, in this case, was the conservative and "Batman & Robin" were the liberals! Litz has twice the brains and does 10 times more for the community than the dynamic duo.

In these economic times it is very important for all politicians either at the local state or national level to freeze their wages for at least a year or two until all of the budget, reassessment and economic concerns are dealt with. The county is in a budget crisis along with the city of Lebanon. The city workers agreed to a wage freeze why not the county as well. What makes Carpenter and Stohler so special. And as far as Jo Ellen Pitz goes, maybe she should have taken the pay increase then she could pay for the curbs that she agreed to install on her property. I don't give any one props on one hand when on the other they don't live up to their obligations in their community.

Who are the Chicken Shick Batman & Robin to play CHICKEN and not come to the meeting. This is what they are getting paid for. Lying political officials is all they are. Yea they get more money so the taxes have to go up to pay those halfwit political jerkweeds. It is really a shame for the older people that won't get a SS raise. Carpenter, you and Stohler need to get on your inner tube, get in the Swatty and float on out to sea. Don't even pass go. Don't collect any money.

I do not think in these hard times, where people do not have jobs available that the raise should be given.

They are lucky to have a job at all.

I also do not think it is right that our civil servants can give themselves a raise when they see fit.

WE THE PEOPLE should have to vote on it.

Hilarious this Johnny Come Lately William Ames is showing up for his FIRST County Commissioners meeting after declaring his candidacy.

Think he is ready for the job lol?

Listen, I don't know Ames from Adam, but this was a really poor move and one that should haunt him for the election. If you aren't showing up and speaking out prior to your election, what the hell do you really know about the position and what it takes to run a county?

Look elsewhere because that move was insulting!

It is interesting that Jo Ellen is the only one to vote "no" here. I have not agreed with everything she has done in the past, but she did the right thing with this vote. It does make me wonder about all of the vile criticism that has been spewed on this website against her...

Even on this board, one of you attacks her for the curb situation. I don't know the details of that situation, but it seems like a separate issue to me. While both issues are important in an overall understanding of her as a politician, the curb issue has no bearing in this instance.

Stop hating people every time you turn the corner. Give people credit (regardless of their political affiliation or your own personal feelings) when credit is due. Litz did the right thing by voting no, and she deserves credit for that.

Was Carpenter elected to represent the taxpayers or the county row officers ?

Billy sounds alot more like a union president or a sports agent then a county commissioner elected to serve the citizens.

Last year Jo Ellen was the only one to vote NO on her salary increase as well.

It's called freedom of speech. The thing people are giving their lives to protect every day.

More people need to do this exact thing. Hold your elected officials accountable for their actions and have total transparency.

Where were you last year when Litz did this exact same thing. She voted No on her increase and Carpenter and Stohler laughed her off like a fool.

It is so obvious that Bill Carpenter is leaving office because he isn't interested in listening to anyone he considers an outsider.

Just look at how Carpenter treated a new citizen at a county commissioners meeting. Bill is scared to death of citizen oversight.

Run Billy run, just like Mayor Anspach.

Remember several years ago when someone left their Eastern European mother at the Good Sam for over a month and Bill Carpenter, when asked how much this patient was costing the hospital and the state, said he didn't know. This is while working as a vP at the hospital and being a commissioner. And no one called him on it. Go Figure.

Dear Douche,

No one said he didn't have right to grandstand and act like a pompous ass, which he did in grand splendor.

All I was saying is the timing is insulting. He could have exercised that right long ago. Is he JUST waking up to the county finances being a mess?

Grandstanding doesn't make a hill of beans worth a differences, he is obviously just another clown out for himself.
