Our legislators never seem to complain about their bills all being paid. Same with our veterans and the folks on Medicare.

How much do you think Tom Cornbutt has to pay out of pocket for his back surgery?

Does it matter? If he has an insurance plan that covers the cost, isn't that his business? If I have an insurance plan that covers my cost, isn't that my business? If you have an insurance plan that covers your costs, isn't that your business?

Mass. 98% of the people are covered and the state because of it is 20 billion in the hole. Its a cluster, now try it for 300 million people

wont work, the govt CANNOT run things correctly and history has proven that.

It's paid for by you and me. ALL state legislators have fully paid health benefits.

And what about people that can't afford the ridiculous cost of a worthwhile health plan?

It doesn't do anyone any good to pay $500 a month to only have to turn around and pay an additional $1000-$3000 deductible and then PRAY that the super expensive procedure you need is approved or you'll die.

Is there ANYTHING out there that you concede to that isn't sticking to a party line of thinking? Do you ever stop and think for yourself as a compassionate, caring HUMAN BEING?

the only problem i have with what you are saying is that he is a veteran and still has no coverage. not all veterans get their healthcare for free.

Compassion is given when it is due.....Sure I feel for this man, and his problems, HOWEVER, HIS problems are not MY problems. We all have problems and issues, but it is MY belief that the responsibility of conquering MY problems lies ONLY on MY shoulders. Where are his family and friends? His church? His buddies at the VFW? Stop asking for me to empty my pockets......

Compassion for your fellow man is not conditional to whatever standards YOU apply. We are ALL stuck on this rock in space together. And compassion that requires those you wish to give it to meet your standards for it before it is given is NOT compassion. It's pity and it's done not with intent of making someone else feel better, but to make yourself feel less guilty about being selfish with your compassion.

This has to be the only country on Earth that subscribes to the ideal that only certain citizens who meet some arbitrary level of 'worthiness' deserve to be treated as human beings, and a vast majority of you are OK with that. It's pathetic.

So tell me Mr. Tut....how much have you sent to this man?????? And that's right...I didn't go to school and work hard to support "my fellow man."

almost a year and I hope this man gets the blessing he deserves, because there are no obvious Vet buddies or family/friends--what I do know is this man has been bled dry helping others with ridiculous amounts long before this happened and had no idea this would happen, helped strangers, charities, family, friends--checked out the sources. This is the even bigger shame.
