South Point shop owner arrested on drug charges

The owner of a tattoo parlor and retail shop got an unexpected birthday present - an arrest warrant from the Lawrence County Drug Task Force.

Lawless said the search seized 2,791 items — including, among others, 99 cans of White Spice, 184 bottles of Wicked X, 81 bottles of Zombie Matter, and 44 packets of Mellow Fellow. Lawless said the list of items is 2 ½ pages long.

I don't get it. Most were under the impression that the stuff they were selling was not listed as being an "illegal" substance with ohio and dea laws. I know I bought some whitespice and done my own research to ensure it was legal, and it was. Or at least the lab reports said it contained no "illegal" substances.

I'm wondering if we're getting duped on the legality of the whole thing. Maybe false lab reports? Misled patrons believing it was legal and it wasn't. Kinda interesting that nothing more has been made of this in the media leaving many unanswered questions.

I really would like to see our sheriff's department concentrate more on heroin, meth, and pills than taking down a synthetic weed dealer. I've tried all the stuff over at Counter Cultures, and from the news report, Lawson made a claim that the stuff has a "heroin" effect. I'd like to have what he's smoking, because nothing they were selling had that kind of effect, or at least the stuff I knew of didn't. I guess we'll see eventually how this plays out.

I never saw the DEA act so fast...accept to ban the "k2's" of the world..They had a good run but now it's over...there are numerous on line places they sell it...taking the same legal position
that the DEA said.."three banned substances"

I enjoy some of the syntheic more then the real
stuff...Police need to follow up more dangerous stuff...me I am moving to "pot friendly location"

Since we can't smoke anything, hell they don't even want you to smoke cigarette's. I guess we go to drinking more. Nice that we live in a society where one drug(alcohol) is on every corner of America. A product which has caused destruction of many people in society continues to be advertised across our TV screen every day. Yet, light up a joint and you sir will go to jail. Most damage I've ever done smoking weed was eating an 18" pizza from Giovanni's. Ohio has medical marijuana on the ballot for November. Get your friends in the know and have them support it.

I didn't mess too much with the first round of K2 and substances that are banned today. But from what I read, it was killing or damaging people who acted irresponsible with it. So I was glad they acted quick. However, the newer "legal" potpourri, was a lot better if you ask me, though there is still a level of uncertainity with the product as it seemed less intrusive with body reactions.

Just disappointed as we all have a house down the street or around the corner that gets a tremendous amount of traffic, and it's not the kinda traffic that's just visiting. In and out in 3 or 4 minutes and seeing 20 different cars a day is common in a lot of neighborhoods, including this area. Those places are putting out more pills than our local pharmacies. And it's killing our area more than synthetic weed has ever done. Just tired of the pill heads. I wonder if weed was legal, how many would just leave that shit alone.
