If any of you are lucky enough to get some kind of reception outside of your home, but a weak (or sometimes no) signal inside, it helps to buy a signal booster. Or at least it helped me.

I went from one to three bars outside and ended up with a four bar signal when I'm in a fairly close proximity to the home base unit. That said, I'm not sure that the square footage of coverage they advertise is completely valid, because the farther away I get from the base unit the signal does drop a bar or two. I've read that using a better quality coax wire than the one mine was shipped with, may help.

I bought a zBoost SOHO YX545, but there are several manufacturers, makes and models to choose from. As I was on AT&T, you need to make sure you purchase a device that is compatible with AT&T's 1900 MHz signal, or it will not work. There are several types of antennas also to consider, including directional. I just went with the one that it was shipped with.

One other note: These devices are only supposed to transmit signals that you have outside of your home to the inside.

If you have zero signal on your roof, which will probably be the ideal place to mount the antenna... then you may as well save your money.
